I'm on the fence about being able to recommend this high chair - I started using it when my daughter was 7 months old and was able to sit up independently. I really liked how easy it was to clean, it had a sleek look, and the size was great for my small kitchen. I even felt that the tray was an adequate size for her eating needs. The biggest cons were as follows: first of all, I could never get the darn tray off, which greatly inhibited the amount of time I was able to use the chair since as my daughter got bigger I was unable to slip her in w the trya on, mind you. I googled how to get the tray off and there were many instructional videos on youtube, so it seems that might be a common issue. It also isn't a very cushy seat - you can buy a little back pillow that you can place around the child's waist, but it's sort of just placed in the seat, isn't an actual pad that they are sitting on, and doesn't seem to add much comfort overall. All in all, I still think the high chair is a nice option - but it really needs to fully function properly. You get what you pay for!

A great option for broke parents, which is most parents! hah!

Being a parent of three kids and growing up in a household that doubled as an in-home daycare, I know firsthand that there aren't many affordable options for parents in the realm of high chairs. When my mom and I first spotted the IKEA ANTILOP High Chair we were nearly reduced to tears. Our daycare cared for five high chair-aged children at the time and relied heavily on a mishmash of hand-me-down chairs donated by parents. We immediately bought six ANTILOP chairs and put them to work right away. They are extremely easy to assemble. We just popped the legs into the base and attached the tray! They are extremely easy to clean too. More than once we took an entire chair to the kitchen sink (since they weigh next to nothing!), flipped it over, wiped it down and hosed it off. No cushions to worry about, but still looked very comfortable thanks the the shaped bucket of the seat. I also liked that I could remove the trays and pull the high chairs right up to the table so the younger kids had the opportunity to eat and socialize with the older children during meals. It kept everyone entertained! I don't expect them to last forever but 5+ years in a daycare with daily use and regular sterilize is pretty impressive already!

Best high chair I've ever bought!!

I love this highchair so much I don't think I'll ever give it up...really, I think I'll actually keep it for my future grandbabies. After my first kid was born, we reupholstered my old high chair for him, but couldn't take it with us as easily since it was old and clunky, so we bought an on the chair one and then threw it out when we found it was too much work to clean and such. When my second kid was born, we decided that it was probably a good idea to get an actual high chair, we went out and looked and all of the high chairs we saw had one thing in common FABRIC PAD SEATING. Not fun to clean. This beautiful high chair is all plastic, which means easy clean up for messy babies. It's perfect table height, the color is white so it goes with any kind of kitchen decor, and the design also fits any kitchen decor.
Durability
I'm a pretty clumsy person, and I've tripped over it, tipped it over and everything, and my son is no different. This chair hasn't broken, chipped, warped, nothing. It looks brand new. Not kidding, it looks brand spankin new!
Design
Ikea furniture have a certain amount of sophistication and durability that cannot be replicated. This chair is no different. It's just a really beautiful chair that is perfect for my kitchen.
Ease of Cleaning
Since it's all white plastic, cleaning is a breeze. I use a cloth to wipe down big messes, and a sponge for it's daily scrub down.

I have to be honest, I mainly bought this high chair because of the awesome low price. We were getting ready to move and I wanted a cheap high chair I could leave behind (we are expats). However, after using this chair for a few months, I really fell in love with it! It has a very simple design, with adjustable straps to keep the baby secure. I also picked up the accessories that go along with this chair, the back cushion and plastic tray. It is easy to move around the house, I love that it is so lightweight! The tray slids up and out, very easy and cleans up nicely. It it large enough for the baby to have plenty of space to play or eat, but it isn't so huge that it takes up a ton of room. Only a few small cons on this product, while the legs are very sturdy, they go out on an angle so beware of the trip hazard. It also takes up a bit more space that other more streamlined high chairs. The only other con is that I notice my daughter has gotten some small scratches on her legs when wearing shorts or such. The plastic is a bit (very slightly!) sharp around the leg area. It really isn't a drama or cause serious damage, I just think it might be a little uncomfortable for the baby. I make sure she's got leggings on if she's going to sit there for a little while and that solves the problem. Overall this is a wonderful high chair that I do recommend, I truly love it and would buy it again! Great choice for someone who just wants a simple high chair and doesn't want all the fancy bells and whistles. IKEA wins with this great high chair!
Durability
The tray gets a little scratched up.
Design
Modern and simple, blends in very well.

I'd buy it again (except...so I don't need to)!!

We opted for this chair (in blue) when our first child was born. We are SO pleased with our purchase. When our boy was tiny, we just rolled up a blanket and tucked it behind him. Never had to worry about him sliding down.
A year and a half later, this chair still looks brand new. Unlike other chairs that trap food in grooves and linings, the IKEA ANTILOP is 100% clean-able...you can even hose it down when necessary. Ask me how I know! :)
We use it for mealtime, haircuts, as a booster seat. If and when we have another child, this chair will be waiting.
Highly recommend this chair!
Design
The only downfall is that the legs stick out a bit, making them easier to trip over.
However, the small "footprint" of this chair (compared to other high chairs) kind of makes up for that.

We bought this 5 yrs ago for our first child and now our 2 yr old is still enjoying it. My favorite thing about it is that it's so easy to clean, just wipe it down with a wet cloth. No washing machine needed. Our tray has a few pasta sauce stains on it but for the most part it looks the same as it did they day we bought it.

Helpful, easy-to-clean and inexpensive

We found this high chair on our first trip to ikea. Its small size caught my eye; we currently had a large high chair that was tough to clean thoroughly and a trip hazard. For the price, we thought it would be worth a try. We loved it! It's so easy to clean. There isn't a pad that gets messy, and there aren't a lot of nooks or crannies for food to hide. It wipes down fairly fast, fits nicely in a slim space, and is much less of a trip hazard than the larger, bulkier standard high chairs. It even travels well - just take the legs off and band them together. We've taken it to several events and were definitely the envy of parents who had to hunt down a high chair or keep their baby/toddler on their lap. It goes with just about any decor, and it works great as a high chair for a first birthday party (including smash cake photos). If it gets particularly nasty (like the one we bought second-hand), you can take the legs off and put it in a standard shower or tub. The tray is easy to remove and can clean up in the sink. We also butt the chair up to the dining table sans tray. There are some great high chairs out there, but for price, ease of clean up and its low-profile design, I always recommend this one.
Sturdiness
We've had two, and they never broke or cracked after two kids.
Durability
They've survived countless meals, have been used as toys, and looked great as we have them to other families.
Design
Gender neutral, low-profile, slightly modern, and easy to clean.
Safety
We've never had an issue with either antilop we've owned. There was a strap recall a few years ago, but it was never a problem. They never tipped over for either child.
Ease of Cleaning
I spent so much less time cleaning, which meant I actually got to eat something.

Budget friendly and easy to clean

Love this high chair. I always wonder why people spend so much money on these things when you can get this budget friendly one from Ikea. The best thing about it is how easy it is to clean. It doesn't have any cushions or padding or 200 straps to lock your kid down buy it works. It works very good in fact. So if you are looking for something budget friendly, stable, and easy to clean then look no further.
Sturdiness
Never had a problem or felt like this high chair was unsteady even with an occasionally wiggling, screaming child.
Durability
Never tipped over and never fell apart. Never had to replace anything on it and was able to pass it on to a friend to use.
Design
Stable, sturdy, and actually looks good in a modern kitchen. Extremely easy to clean and maintain.
Safety
Never had an issue or any worries over safety.
Ease of Cleaning
This is probably one of the easiest high chairs I have ever had to clean. No fabrics or cushions to worry about. Just take a damp rag and wipe it down. If you want a good cleaning then use a disinfectant wipe. Couldn't be easier!

Best High Chair Ever? Possibly.

When my daughter was born money was very tight. This high chair was the cheapest thing available (even used high chairs of other brands cost more than this). So that's why we bought it. But it didn't take long to decide that we had ended up with probably the best high chair out there, and you can read why in the rest of this review.
Sturdiness
Despite being super light-weight, this chair never felt flimsy. The angled legs prevented tipping, the tray snapped on securely, and the simple strap got the job done as far as keeping baby in the seat.
Durability
We used this high-chair until our daughter outgrew the need for one. We even took it to other friend's houses for dinner (which was super easy...just remove the legs and pop everything in the trunk of the car)! But when we sold it to a family who needed a chair for their baby, it still looked like it had just come from the store.
Design
The simple design is very modern and sleek. I do wish Ikea had some better color options though. Many of their children's products tend to come in two basic options: white, or garish. The optional cushion (very useful for smaller babies, especially if they need a little help sitting up for long periods of time), was particularly unattractive.
Safety
If you have a super strong kid, they might be able to kick themselves over if they can get their feet on the table or counter. And if they're particularly agile, and the strap is left too loose, they might be able to wiggle out of the seat. But we never had a problem.
Ease of Cleaning
Ah, the biggest reason I recommend this chair to ALL my parent friends. This baby is easy to clean. I just don't understand the products offered by the competition. Aside from the fact that they're HUGE (and this Ikea chair is not, it takes up very little space compared to most high chairs), they're usually made with multiple pieces and tons of padding. Babies are messy eaters. Lots of fabric, even if it can be put in the washing machine, is NOT what you want on your high chair. When baby makes a mess in the Ikea Antilop, you spray it with water or vinegar, wipe it with a rag or paper towel, and bam! It's clean, in 30 seconds. You could probably put the tray and, depending on the size of your dishwasher, the seat (with legs popped off) in your dishwasher if you wanted.

This highchair was recommended by my mother and my sister, and I'm so glad they told me about it! You can get it for a fraction of the price of other high chairs, and in my opinion, it's better-looking and more functional than most other high chairs out there!
Pros:
You can even take off the tray and scoot it up to the table so baby feels more like she's part of the family.
It's ultra-light and ultra-portable.
Baby seems to love it. I will put her in the chair with a few toys while I cook dinner and do the dishes and she LOVES it..she only complains when she drops her toys on the floor.
It's so easy to clean: tray is light and easy to remove and wash, and it doesn't have any hard-to-reach spaces.
Cons:
My only real complaint is that I wish they made it bar-height. It's table-height so you can scoot it to your table, but our table is a bar-height one. We still use (and love) it, but it makes me so sad!
The legs come out a little bit from the size of the chair, and my husband has tripped over it a few times. I personally feel like this is a "watch where you're walking" reminder more than anything.
I would also recommend getting the striped cushion for it (sold seperately)...my daughter is still little (13 lbs) and it helps to keep her in and happy.
Safety
fyi, there is a recall on the strap of this chair. ikea will replce the strap though.
