This Janome machine is great to have! It's one of the best in the generally-affordable price range! I had previously purchased another brand but it had a lot of problems and I wasn't happy with it. When I switched to this, WOW! It's what I wanted! Several great features are that it does NOT have to be plugged into a computer while in use (unlike other embroidery machines). Also it has a card reader, so you can either download free/purchased designs on your computer and put them on the card, or if you get computer software, you can make all the designs you want and the possibilities are endless! (The specific software I have to create/edit designs is way behind times as far as software goes though). This machine comes with a nice array of designs, several fonts, and the ability to use a nice variety of hoop sizes. When using this machine, it feels like it's a good machine and well-made.

I have had my Janome 300E for years, and it is amazing! It is the perfect home embroidery machine. It comes with two hoops, the 4x4 and the 5x7, which are the 2 most used hoop sizes. Additionally, you can purchase the 6x10 hoop, which is great for shower curtains and other large items. The software is very easy to use, I especially like that it comes with computer software so you don't have to set up designs in the machine itself. It comes with a few pre-loaded monogram fonts, but the capabilities are endless, especially if you download designs from the internet. Even though this is one of the cheaper models on the market, it really does pretty much everything that a home embroiderer would want. I have a 16-month old son, and have been able to outfit him in adorable appliqued items at a fraction of the cost of boutique brands. If you love embroidery, monogram and applique, the investment is definitely worth it!
