inexpensive and has great odor control

5

Johnny Cat is a great inexpensive cat litter. I have a hard time finding it in my local super market though, because it's usually sold out...that's how good it is! My cat is very picky about her cat litter, and won't use her box even if it has the slightest bit of odor. Johnny Cat has maximum odor control, and keeps the pet odors away all day, until I clean the cat box the next day. I keep my cat box in my bedroom, because i'm currently living with my parents, and my cat likes to stay in my room most of the time. I put the cat box near the door where I can't see it, and I can't even tell it's there because it never smells. Johnny Cat is easy to scoop everyday, and it keeps the cat box dry. It has fantastic clumping power. I don't have any problems with tracking either. When my cat hates a litter she kicks it out and makes a mess all over the floor. Not with Johnny Cat. It doesn't make her sneeze, and it isn't dusty either. I also like that this litter isn't heavily scented, because a lot of the popular odor controlling litters are. There's no scent, so it doesn't bother me or my cat.

Jonny Cat Original Clay Litter

Well it's been a very long time since I used a clay litter like this as opposed to a scoop-able litter. It really is more expensive in the long run so my advice it to have multiple uses for this product. Moisture Absorption Yes, it's pretty good at absorbing moisture and it's also great for sanding your sidewalk and driveway when it snows or there is ice. I don't smoke but I have talked to neighbors that do smoke and they use the litter in their outdoor ashtrays. I have also used this type of litter in my garage and driveway to absorb oil leaks and it does a great job. Ease of Cleaning This is as easy as it gets. You use litter box liners and after a day or so, you toss the whole thing out. There is no scooping. Odor Control This type of litter doesn't really control the odor like the scoop-able litters do but if you are in a pinch like I was, it will do. Ease of Use It's easy enough to use. Fill about 2 inches of litter in the box preferably with a disposable liner and after one day, toss it all out.

good basic clay litter if on a budget

Jonny Cat litter in a bag is one of the good basic clay type ( non scoopable ) cat litters on the market . It is very inexpensive and gets the job done . BUT you will have to deal with a dusty cloud as is the case with many clay-based litters . It absorbs moisture quicky and is effective at masking strong cat urine odors almost immediately . I typically look for the fragrance free type because my cats get very picky about any different odors in the box as with most cats. It is fairly easy to clean out the box with this Jonny Cat litter - there is some dust and sometimes you have to scrape a bit with the litter scoop because it is not a clumping litter which is easier to clean but it works - just takes a bit longer . There is a savings in buying this clay litter because it is very cheap -if you have respiratory issues the dust when pouring may bother you as it lingers in the air and leaves a fine mist around the box on the floor . So beware of this but otherwise , it is cheap , absorbs urine well , fairly easy to clean out the box and masks cat odors effectively .

Fantastic clay litter.

Jonny Cat is another one of the great inexpensive cat litters that I really like a lot. The Jonny Cat Cat litter that I used was the fragrance free litter. The fragrance free litter is great because it has no added fragrances in the litter whatsoever. The Jonny Cat fragrance free litter uses natural extracts from vegetables and fruit to control the odors. I also like that it's a clay litter instead of a clumping litter. The clay completely absorbs all the cat urine and odors along with it. It keeps my cats litter box clean and fresh without using irritating harmful ingredients. I also like that it's a dust free litter. A lot of the litters all have that dust and fragrance flying into my face that really bothers me. I don't get that with this cat litter. As long as you regularly change your cat litter, this is a great litter to use. I really appreciate this cat litter because it doesn't harm me, my cat, or the environment, because it isn't made from any harmful artificial ingredients. Moisture Absorption The clay in this cat litter completely absorbs all the moisture and odor from the litter box. I never find my cats box to be wet, messy, or smelly either. This litter works extremely well. Ease of Cleaning It's easy to clean, but because it's a clay non clumping litter the litter needs to be thrown out and cleaned more often. I usually end up dumping out all the litter when I need to clean it and start fresh. Odor Control The Jonny Cat litter that I used is a fragrance free cat litter, and it uses vegetable and fruit extracts to get rid of all the odors. The clay in the litter also keeps the odors away as well. Fragrances in cat litters usually makes my cat sneeze, but this litter doesn't. Ease of Use This litter is really easy to use because it doesn't have any dust in it, which makes it easier and nicer to pour into my cats litter box, and it doesn't track and dusty paw prints out of the box either.

Comes through on a tight budget...

Having six cats, I don't always have the luxury of buying my prefered brand of kitty litter. I have had to go with Jonny Cat many-a-time when I was at the point of choosing between buying myself food, or buying kitty litter. You can find this litter almost anywhere....I usually buy it at my grocery store where it is nearly always the best deal: you get the greatest poundage of kitty litter for the least amount of money. The price is the up side, but as for the dowrn side, this litter does not perform as well as others. It is basically scented gravel with no bells or whistles. It absorbes....sort of. Usually I find the urine just trickles down to the bottom, even after I just changed the litter. It is pretty good for solid waste, as long as you clean out the box every day. I would NOT use this litter in a covered litter box. It produces a lot of dust and can cause respiratory issues if not well ventilated. One of my cats hopped into her covered litter box right after I changed it, and she inhaled some of the particles and started wheezing. Also, you do not want this litter to track anywhere on your floor because it will scratch wood, tile, etc. Additionally, if stepped on with bare feet, it sure hurts (I wonder what the cats feel like).

very dusty and does not work

I brought this litter for my two cats because I heard it was the best. I will never use this product again because when I poured it into the cat boxes the dust filled my garage. This cat litter was tracked all over the house because it struck to my cats paws. I had to change the litter boxes more often because it did not absorb the urine. This litter also does not help with odor control because I had to use another product to control the smell. I would not recommend this product to anyone because it is a big waste of money. The size of bag is appealing but you will need it all because it does not work. Moisture Absorption This product has no moisture absorption because there is left over urine in the bottom of the litter box. Also there will be let over urine on top of the litter also. Ease of Cleaning This litter is very messy because of the dust it produces which means you have to clean the floor and the litter box. This leads to some wasted time out of you day for cleaning. Odor Control This litter has no odor control which means you will need other product for that purpose. Ease of Use This product is hard to use because it is messy and dusty.

Jonny cat litter is OK but not my favorite

3

I still have a bag of Jonny Cat litter in the basement that I use as a backup in case I run out of my other litter.  This was the first cat litter that I tried in my long search for the perfect cat litter, since I recently adopted two kittens.  It's actually not bad, but it's not my favorite.  Jonny Cat does cover up the smell of urine better than some other clay litters I've tried.  However, this is a non-clumping litter, so I have to clean and empty the litter box more frequently.  It's really hard to scoop out the urine because it spreads over the litter and there are no clumps.  The feces are easy to scoop out.  I notice that the litter box starts to smell after a few days, even if I try to scoop everything out (probably because I have two cats sharing the same box).  My cats don't seem to mind it, but I think they prefer the clumping litters.  The best thing about this cat litter is the price.  This was one of the cheapest cat litters in the grocery store I usually go to.

Jonny Cat Original Litter

I have been using Jonny Cat Original Litter for almost 12 years. The breeder of my beautiful Bengal recommended it whole-heartedly when I "adopted" my sweet boy. She said that she only used that litter in her cattery, which was in her home. It is NOT a clumping litter, and she clearly pointed that fact out to me and said that it was the reason she used it and recommended it. Kitties are always licking themselves and do so especially after using their litter boxes, and anything their scratchy tongues pick up gets ingested. A clumping litter expands and forms a hard mass that absorbs fluids. They are truly unsafe and unhealthy for our feline friends. What Jonny Cat IS is a economical, safe, litter, and the Original litter has a mild "fragrance," or deodorizer that is released upon contact with moisture. It is also dust free. I must add that I am diligent about scooping regularly, and I change the litter every 5 or 6 days.
