I purchased this carrier about a year ago when I was going to be travelling with my 4 children and no other adults. I needed a safe way to carry my then 10 month old and her clothes, toys, diapers, food etc. through airports. Once we reached our destination I wanted to use it in place of a stroller so that I could have my hands free for my other youngsters. I did a lot of research because I was pretty nervous about the trip and wanted to be sure it went as smooth as possible. When I found this carrier I knew it was exactally what I was looking for at a cost that I could afford. I am so thankful that I made this purchase. I have now used it A LOT in the past year and it worked great to travel as well as the many hikes we take. It has 2 very large compartments to pack items and still leaves plenty of room for the child.  I am overweight (size 18) and was concerned that it would not fit well but I have no problem adjusting it and plenty of room to spare. The waisteband while comfortable and necessary, does create a bit of an unflattering look but that is my fault, not the packs LOL. We are getting ready for our next summer trip and this pack will be coming with us!

We purchased the Kelty Kids TC 2.1 Backpack style carrier about a year ago for a trip to the mountains. We were looking for just a regular child carrier and were blown away by the design of the Kelty. It literally looks like a backpack, and once expanded and your child is inside, it almost looks as if you are carrying the child on your back, and your child is carrying the backpack! Our model does not have a kick stand so the backpack itself has to be balanced on something while putting your child in/ pulling them out, but we haven't found this to be a big problem at all. It will hold around 40 lbs (child + contents of backpack). Our daughter is not one who enjoys being strapped in her carseat or stroller, but every time we have told her we are pulling out the backpack carrier for a walk to the farmers market or just outside, she gets very excited. I think she enjoys being able to see up high. The front of the backpack is an additional backpack, almost like a 2-in-1! This smaller pack zips off, and actually has it's own straps so it can be carried as a separate backpack, and it intended for use as a diaper bag. Very handy! We love this product and would recommend it to anyone! We also purchased the separate rain/sun hood and have used it constantly with the backpack.
