We have only had this microwave for a few weeks, but so far it is working really great. It is very powerful and heats food up much faster than our very old and tiny microwave. I always thought microwaves were pretty much the same, but that's definitely not true here! I also like that it is large. Sometimes I want to reheat a casserole or something and I'd have to portion it into smaller sizes in my own microwave. With our new one, I can just put the whole thing in. The unit is really quite attractive too. It's not really fancy, but it looks nice in our kitchen and matches our other Kenmore appliances. Overall we are very satisfied with our new Kenmore microwave and look forward to using it for a long time to come!

My husband and I had a countertop model microwave for over ten years. His parents generously purchased us a Kenmore microwave that fits in over our stove. This was great as it freed up a ton of counter space in our moderately sized kitchen. I don't have any major complaints or compliments about this microwave. I mean, it works...you put food in and it heats the food up. I have noticed that food such as cheese on a plate of nachos melts more unevenly than in my old microwave. So, some of the cheese is still solid while some is totally melted. Because of this uneven heating, I have to very carefully stir food that I am heating up for my children such as oatmeal to ensure that there are no major hot spots. The most prominent complaint/problem I have noticed is that the door seems loose. It wiggles slightly up and down which seems a big unstable. If I had to do it over again, I would definielty go for a different brand of microwave for my kitchen.

I have a 721 over my stove and while at first, it worked fine, it has become a garbage item. The entire stove top light unit melted and became unserviceable. The handle broke off - because the design is not adequate. The turntable broke. The Drive sprocket stripped. Yikes. No more Kenmore!

We've been a microwaving owning family for over twenty years now. In fact my first microwave was a Kenmore and so is the one I have know. Yeah, you guessed it we've only had to buy two. And to top it off the first one never quit working, it just didn't match my home decor anymore. No we did't get it in black, our mistake. Now we know thats not very green of us, to keep appliances for that long! But who can afford to go out and buy new appliances every other year? Not us, and besides with two children in the house. We had better things to spend money on. Thats why we've been loyal Kenmore customers for so long. None of our appliances, microwave included, have quit working and need replaced. We've either out grown them or replaced due to ugliness. This microwave has sensor cooking abilitys. Has never burnt a bag of microwave popcorn. Although the spuds don't always come out all the way done on sensor cooking. Of course, we live in Idaho and do get some pretty big bakers here locally. It also has the option to defrost food quick or slow. It works great! With two working parents food doesn't always get taken out to thaw. Now I do have to say the hardest part about this is, shopping for a new one. Not that Kenmore isn't still around, but appliances become like old friends. Familiar, well liked, and not easily replaced! Think about it, would you want to replace an friend with someone you did't know?

The Kenmore 721 1100 watt microwave oven is a fairly low-priced oven that gives nice results.  I have cooked everything from popcorn to raw meat, with no complaints.  This microwave offers a great deal of cooking space for its small appearance.  The food cooks while spinning around on a glass turntable with a 12" diameter.  There is a kitchen timer and 10 power levels.  The timer goes up to 100 minutes This is a good microwave, when space is limited.  The oven does make more noise than you may be used to.  If you want to make the oven quieter, you can try putting something underneath it to cushion some of the vibrations.  Try something like a rubber mat or coasters.  If you put this right on top of tile, you'll probably be very annoyed by the sound.  The oven is such a good deal, so do not let the noise be the only thing that turns you against this oven.  The noise is just the vibrations of the metal legs under the microwave, so just cushion them.  This is worth trying!

Was happy to replace the old dinosaur microwave I had. My dad received it as a gift many years ago. I never knew what a difference the Kenmore microwave would make until I used it. Easy to use, cooks thoroughly, and it is a wonderful energy saver. Very pleased.

Great oven for the price! It has just the right amount of space and is just fast enough for our needs. As with all the other Kenmore appliances we have purchased over the years it has proven to be reliable, easy to clean and more than we expected for the price.

We bought a Kenmore Microwave #20-66229 just two weeks ago. It wasn't worth packing home. When I try to open the door, sometimes the whole unit slides across the counter! I have to hold it down with one hand and pull the door with the other. Then, after only two weeks of using it--and sparingly, at that--the timer counts down but the unit will not come on. This happens intermittently. We are returning it and will try to find a unit that is more reliable and easier to use!  Don't buy this unit!  By the way, this unit may not be the same as the one that is being reviewed by others here. I could not find the right match for our unit. Watch the model number, that tells the tale!

 I just like the way I can move it around my kitchen. A few years (7), our microwave quit, we received the Kenmore microwave as a Christmas present. It has saved me lots of time in the kitchen, and with a 10 month old baby running around, every minute counts, especially when she's hungry.

After 25 yrs having the same microwave I was not looking forward to replacing my old friend, but I did not have any choice as my friend was no longer working.   I saw the Kenmore Elite and just decided to give it a try.  I love it, one touch operation on so many of the things I cook for my family is fantastic.  I will admit that at first I was intimidated by all the options on the panel, but once I dove in and just started using the features I am patting myself on the back for such a wise purchase.  Kenmore has a good name and kept telling myself I could count on it to be a good product.  I was so very right and am looking forward to having this friend around for the next 25 years.  I have found it easy to use, easy to keep clean, especially like the curved back so my square dishes do not get stuck in the corners.  I also love that it tells me what to press as I was going thru my learning curve.  Looking forward to finding out what else this micro can do.
