when the interior lights fail, the repair is over 400$. why would anyone take that risk when interior lighting issues should be simple, basic and routine repairs. under no circumstances could i ever recommend such poor design. such a waste. do a google search regarding interior lighting failure, then see if there was any resolutions, other than the 350$ part plus additional labor of over 110$, my hunch is the answer will be no...avoid this item

This is the closest one,to the one I have and I use it as my extra refrigerator now.Still kicking 10 years later. The Kenmore Coldspot refrigerator is basic and meets all my needs. I like having the freezer on top so I don't have to bend over to find things underneath. The ice maker works great and the freezer holds a lot of stuff. I like the big, clear, vegetable/fruit bins on the bottom of the refrigerator section. They slide in and out easily and are easy to clean. The smaller meat tray in the middle is nice for storing deli meats and cheeses. I really like the detachable bins on the door. They're easy to clean and hold lots of dressings, condiments, etc. The deep one holds a gallon of milk and a half gallon of juice nicely. There's a small, clear compartment on the inside top of the door that holds 3 butter packages side by side. I've had a side-by-side refrigerator in the past and felt like I couldn't fit things into it easily. This refrigerator holds a lot of food! Noise Level I've never noticed the noise of this refrigerator unless the ice-maker is filling with water or dropping the cubes into the bin underneath. Interior Organization I've had lots of refrigerators and this one stores more items than any of the others. The storage on the door holds a lot of bottles/cans and the bins come out to be washed. Temperature Control I rarely have trouble with things freezing that have been pushed to the back. The refrigerator keeps a constant temperature well. Ease of Cleaning About every 6 months I pull everything out and clean the inside. The bins still look like new when clean and the pyrex-type glass shelves sparkle! The inside walls of the refrigerator are smooth and very easy to clean. The back wall behind the vegetable/fruit bins is slanted so if there's a spill near the back, it runs down to the spaces under the bins and can be easily sponged away. Durability I've had this refrigerator for over 10 years without a problem. Design This refrigerator is simple and elegant looking. There's nothing fancy about it, but it blends into my kitchen without standing out.

This Kenmore model is very much a no big frills, standard refrigerator. No ice or water on the door, no special organization inside, not especially attractive looking. But it keeps your food cold. I mean, really. I do tend to have the temp turned down quite a bit, but it go more and already I have to be careful to not let some food freeze. I do find that the cold seems to leak from the freezer on the top to the top shelf of the refrigerator, so be careful not to put anything too delicate up there - say, produce. But it's a nice place to put dairy or anything prone to spoiling. Noise Level Well, it's noisy. It's that simple. It's a bit annoying, but there are worse traits for a refrigerator to have. Interior Organization Nothing special here; it is neither exceptionally well or poorly organized. Quite standard. I do like the extra drawer under the top shelf for cheese, deli, etc. The crispers are a little different; instead of sliding out, they rotate out at an angle giving you better access to your food - but less room. Temperature Control Well. I must say this is a very cold fridge - and that's the most important thing. However, as I said before, the cold from the freezer seems to leak into the refrigerator. In fact, which the frig area tends to be a bit too cold, the freezer can be a little bit too warm. But the only time this can be an issue is with ice cream or the like. I always try to put ice cream from in front of the blower and that so far has kept it from getting soft. Ease of Cleaning All of the parts come out so they can be cleaned, although some parts require a bit of a struggle. Overall, I'd say it's pretty typical for refrigerators of its ilk. Durability All of the shelves and drawers are made of plastic and I did have one of the crisper drawers break off.

A Kenmore fridge has always been a regular in the household ever since I was a kid as it is reliable. I just bought this one about a year ago and so far so good. Let me start with the bad: my complaint I'd add was that the fridge doesnt have a built-in spot for the eggs and the container specificially for the eggs was not readily included in the fridge. I called Customer service which was based in Asia and asked them to mail me one but to this day, still no container-storage for my eggs. Oh well. Other than these two major complaints, the fridge isnt too bad. You get what you pay for. It isnt that large as those typical stainless steel ones you see in the store. I'd say it is good for a couple but if you have a full functioning family of 4, this fridge would be too small. I can fit about 3-4 full size dinner plates for leftovers in the middle compartment, just to give you an idea of the size. The positives are that this is quite inexpensive and it is quite easy to clean. The two plastic drawers for the produce are see through and are easy to wipe down. The top two levels use a metal-wire shelf so no need to really clean that out. There are three shelves at the door itself. One can fit maybe 4 2-L of soda bottle at the bottom door shelf. The top shelf has covered compartments for butter and such. overall i'd recommend it for a vacation home or for a couple starting off. Kenmore, so far, has been reliable for me when it comes to their refrigerators.

We purchased our fridge when we were moving into our house. What drew us to model was the ice machine and the water dispenser. We also liked the glossy black finish. The shelves and drawers on the door are all removable which makes cleaning them very easy. I thought I would like the water dispenser being inside the fridge as opposed to on the door. We rarely use it. We haven't purchased a new filter for the dispenser since buying the fridge, primarily because we're not sure what filter we should buy. Also, it does let a lot of the cold air out of the fridge when you're filling your cup. One night we came home to a flood in our kitchen. The ice machine malfunctioned and didn't dump the ice. Instead it kept filling water over the ice in the trays and it flowed out and popped open the freezer. It then kept running all over the floor. Since then, our ice machine has not worked. We could have someone come and look at it, but we don't really want to waste the money on ice. Instead we just use manual trays now. It's a nice fridge but the clear shelves get dirty quickly and I find myself having to clean them at least once a week. I'm not sure if I would purchase a similar model the next time. Noise Level Runs very quietly. We never hear it and when our ice machine did work, it wasn't loud at all. Interior Organization Many options for shelving placement. Temperature Control The back of the fridge tends to be colder than the front and we have had problems with items freezing Ease of Cleaning Trays are shelves remove easily for cleaning Design The black glossy finish on the front show every fingerprint and with 3 kids I'm constantly cleaning it. I have had my Kenmore Coldspot Refrigerator Model 106.58524700 for about two years and have been very happy with it. I like that this is a side-by-side model with ice and water dispensers on the door. I also like the meat tray on the bottom that keeps meat very cold. This model also has an adjustable humidity control for the crisper drawer which is nice. I find that this refrigerator model allows me to easily organize everything in the refrigerator and the freezer. There is lots of room for storage in the door and I was able to adjust the shelves to exactly where I want them. The shelves, although plastic, have seemed to hold up well and are easy to clean. The water can be filtered, although we have ours hooked up to our reverse osmosis system so we don't need the filtration system. Overall, I have been very happy with this refrigerator and I would recommend this model. Next time I am in the market for a refrigerator I would definitely consider purchasing another Kenmore.

I wanted ice cubes that look like clear glass. To get them: 1. Plugged it in Ice not clear. 2. Added a water softner, Ice not clear. 3. Added a reverse Osmosis unit. Voila! Perfection. PS RO unit alone Not clear. Works great, makes lots of ICE that looks great and tastes great. Put some cubes in a glass and let them melt for the worlds purest water. I had other units before, none compare!

My white Kennmore Coldspot is a great refrigerator.  I love how the ridged exterior really disguises fingerprints.  My children can easily use the refrigerator, as there is lots of storage in the door and roomy in the interior for them to be able to see everything at a glance and find what they want quickly.  Having the freezer on the top means that everything in the refrigerator section is at a very accessible level for all members of my family. I love that there are two storage areas in the door for holding a carton of eggs.  (There are times when I need plenty of eggs!) The three roomy drawers are clear plastic, making it easy for this busy mom to quickly see what is and isn't on hand.  Very helpful when it comes time to make my shopping list. I can adjust the levels of the shelves to accomodate my storage needs.  The Kennmore Coldspot can easily hold a large crockpot, plus beverages, lunch meat, cheese, fruits and vegetables, eggs, condiments, and several containers of leftovers, all at the same tim
