I had this soap sitting in my closet for a couple months while I used up other soap in the house. I would have to say that it made the closet stink. I realized after a short time that I really didn't like the smell of this soap. For me things that I put on my body have to smell good or I won't use them. I did try this soap and it goes on pretty well. I really like that the soap is made out of natural ingredients. I have used other kiss my face products and I like other things, but I couldn't get into this soap. It also will get a little slimy on the tub. It probably really isn't a bad soap if you like the smell, so really sniff the bar well before buying. I just like other bars of soap a lot better. Effectiveness It does the job of getting your body soft and clean. It also feels as if it is moisturizing your skin at the same time that it's cleaning. That's a plus. Scent I really couldn't deal with the way this soap smelled. Someone else might have different tastes in smell and like it a lot. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

I try to go as all natural as possible with my body care items and Kiss My Face provides an inexpensive, all natural option that is also not tested on animals. I picked up a single bar of this Olive and Verbena Soap and brought it home to try. I used it once and that was it. It went in the trash the very next day. This is super moisturizing and the substantially sized bar foams up nicely. The bar is a bit unwieldy though as it is quite a large bar and I dropped it a couple times while using it, at which time it made a giant thunk in the tub, thankfully missing my toes! The issue I had with this was the scent. Perhaps stench would be a better term. The verbena part was very herbally and smelled much too crunchy granola for my tastes. The olive oil part was where things got really, really bad. Frankly, it smells like cooking oil. Not a nice, light scent, but like you were working near a frying station all day and came home bearing that smell in your skin. My mother accurately described it as "It smells like you took a bath in motor oil and then tried to cover up the stench with some perfume!". Yes, it really is that bad. And, sadly, the scent lingers on your skin until you bathe again. So, while this is an effective soap the smell is a huge turnoff and is why I really cannot recommend this at all.

This soap is a nice neutral smell. Not overly scented but not just plain. Even the men folk like this soap. It has solved the gender fights over having manly man soap and girlie girl soap. As it doesn't smell too "girlie man" as he put it, and I don't think it smells like a "lumberjack." It is a gentle soap nothing harsh or abrasive about it. As someone with allergies to everything it is important to have a basic soap that feels good and doesn't make you break out in hives. This soap is great for that! The lack of sodium larual sulfate is what got me started on this soap. But the fact I can use this soap everyday and not have to worry that it is going to cause skin problems or leave my skin too dry is why I have stayed with it. I was worried about the oil in it, but it leaves my skin soft but does not clog any of my pores. Downside, is it does get a bit slimy if left in the corner of the tub. Get a soap dish. It will be less slimy and will last a lot longer. Enjoy your soap!

I have been using Kiss My Face Soaps since the days when they were a simple milled hard green soap in a cellophane wrapper- before they sold out to bigger conglomerates. The soap used to be one of the most fantastic soaps out there. A bar would last in the shower for almost a year and the whole family loved it. I had purchased a whole box of bars of soap and after many years of use, I thought I would try one of the newer ones. I had no idea how different their soaps had become! I was not expecting the poor performance that I got from the newer Kiss My Face soaps- including the verbena one. Effectiveness This soap is nothing like I remember it to be. Although I love verbena, this soap is soft and gushy and melts to nothing in the shower very quickly. It leaves my skin feeling okay after using it, but honestly it is not nearly as nice as the older olive oil soap was that Kiss My Face used to make. I didn't find my skin cleaned nearly as nicely as I expected and my skin was left feeling rather dry too after the feeling of the soap and water wore off. I am not very impressed with this soap and won't buy it again. Scent The scent of this soap is pleasant despite its lack of performance in other areas.

I had some great coupons to try the Kiss My Face Bar Soap with olive oil and decided to give it a try. Some pros and cons. The biggest con is that it is an icky brown soap that kind of falls apart and looks gross in the shower. The pros are that it works wonderfully, smells good, lathers well and leaves a clean fresh feeling. I have decided to stick with natural soaps instead of body washes for health reasons. The stuff they put in our body washes can't be good for us so I am going back to the regular bar soap.

I like the smell of the product and it cleans well. The problem is that it starts to get gooey if you leave it in a soap dish. I wish that it were not glycerin since that seems to happen to most glycerin soaps. Effectiveness The soap cleans well and is gentle. Scent The scent is pleasant and not overpowering.

I recently became aware of this product line in our local health food store.  The clever name first caught my eye, followed by the ingredients listed on the label.  I decided to give the brand a try and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the soap.  The fragrance is not over-powering.  The soap is gentle and enriching, yet does not have the feel that you were unable to wash it off.  The cost is not as pricey as would be anticipated for high quality ingredients that you might find in some other soaps.  Although I found the bar I purchased in a health food store, it is my understanding from some friends, that this brand is being carried in nation wide chains such as Walmart.  If this is the case, then it becomes an even better buy for those who are price conscious yet want quality products. It lasted a long time, much on par with pricier French milled varieties.   I would recommend this soap to anyone looking for a product that is high quality, reasonably price yet luxurious in the way it lathers.

I bought this product as I was trying to switch over to more natural skin care products.  At first I thought it was pricey for a bar of soap but once we started using it it seemed to last forever!  There was a very light scent to it which was nice and not overbearing.  If you're not used to natural soaps this one does not sud but that doesn't mean you're not getting clean.  It left my skin feeling great.
