Lansinoh Manual breast pump

I could not afford an electric breast pump and our insurance did not cover a rental so I decided to give this one a try. It actually works pretty well, I was surprised how much I could get out with a manual. I was very easy to clean and changing the bottles out was simple. Not difficult at all to put back together either after washing. Only reason I gave it an 8 is that my hands did tire after a while squeezing the handle. This would be great for a mom who does not need to pump a lot. Comfort It was very comfortable on the breast, just uncomfortable squeezing the handle after a while. Good hand and forearm workout! Ease of Cleaning Super easy to take apart wash, sanitize and put back together. Even sleep deprived I had no issues with cleaning it at all. Durability Seemed to be very durable. I used it throughout the day and at night and it held up well for me. Versatility It's small and without all the tubing it's versatile enough to use anywhere. Ease of Use Easy to use but the squeezing of the handle becomes tiring after a while.

Waste of money

Very uncomfortable to use, difficult on the hand, felt my neck aching trying to hold the pump in place. But it is easy to clean. Did not get more than 3 oz. even though I had no problems otherwise. Electric pumps are the way to go. Maybe can rent one or buy one on craigslist. My old medela was broken by a wayward fuse blow up . otherwise I would never have bought this one.

Best Manual Pump

5

I bought this pump with my first child in 2010, I really wanted the PIS but I figured I would just see how breastfeeding by pump went for me before putting down that kind of cash. I was a stay at home mom for the most part but went to school as well. This pump completely surprised me! I was able to use this pump exclusively for 10 months pumping at least once or twice a day. It expressed milk in no time, was comfortable, portable and very durable. I had friends that had other brands of manual pumps and once they heard what I had to say, they went out and bought one of their own. One of the best parts about this pump is that it is very affordable if you are in a tight spot. It was very easy to clean. It was very comfortable and my hand didn't get tired while pumping. It is a quiet pump for the most part, however it can start to make a squeaking noise if all the parts are not completely dry before assembling. I liked that I did not have to carry around an extra bag for the pump and could just toss it in the diaper bag. I am expecting another child and have already bought this pump to use again. I would not recommend this pump for someone exclusively pumping only or pumping for more than one child. Lansinoh also have great customer service if you ever have a problem.

Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump is the perfect accessory

The Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump is the perfect pump for me.  This manual pump is easy to set up and easy to use.  It comeswith spare parts to make this product last longer.  The Lansinoh Manual Pump is also very affordable.  I pump once or twice a day and reach for the Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump over my more expensive double electric pump.  It is a very portable pump that I take with me when I am out and about. It fits right inside my babies diaper bag.  It is the perfect accessory for the breastfeeding mother.

Lansinoh manual breast pump is decent...

I should say first thing off the bat, the only reason I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 is because my hands get tired using this pump. I read many reviews on it before buying it because I'm a licensed massage practitioner, so I use my hands all the time and didn't want them to be getting even more tired. I read reviews from people who said it did not make their hands tired, but it is indeed tiring for me. The pump works great in and of itself. I read reviews that also said it developed a squeak, I haven't really had that happen. It started squeaking once, I moved some parts around a little bit, and it stopped. I haven't ever tried an electric pump yet, but I really enjoy how quiet this one is, and easy to use without having to stay in one spot. It's easy to wash, top rack dishwasher safe. Easy to take apart and reassemble. Good price. The bottles you pump into can be thrown directly into the freezer. All in all a good pump, I just wish it was easier on my hands.

Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump Saves the day!!

I forgot my electric breast pump at work and this emergency lead me to the store to buy an inexpensive manual pump to get me through.  I bought it with the expectation of using it only a couple times until I could get the electric pump again.  I was really surprised by the results of this pump; I almost think it is sometimes faster than my electric pump.  The ounces it collected was fantastic and a very short period of time.  I liked this pump so much that I have brought it along with me when I knew I would need to pump, but was tight on space.  It is comfortable to use and washes up easily. The only downfall is that the threading that connects the pump to a collection bottle is meant for the Lansinoh brand and does not mix well with other brands.  I was able to use Medela brand with a little bit of work, but was really limited to the bottles that it came with.  I would collect the milk in the Lansinoh bottles and pour it into my Medela bottles.

Works great!

For my first two children, I only use a double electric breast pump to pump milk. For the third child, I received the Lasinoh manual breast pump and love it! This pump is so much easier to set up and use than the electric pump. There is very little set up and I don't have to worry about being hooked up to electricity. Also, with a toddler it is downright dangerous to have the electric breast pump out when he's up. He likes to play with buttons, which can be painful on the electric pump.  The manual pump eliminates this concern. It is also much more portable thant the electric pump. I found that it sucks almost as well as the electric, which is perfect for my needs. I only pump a few times a week when I am out or feel engorged. I think if I worked and needed to pump regularly I would prefer the electric because you do both breasts at the same time. That is the only downside to this pump is that you can pump one side at a time. Overall, it's a great pump at a great price.

I love this pump

I have to say, I love this pump.  I bought it after using a electric pump that didn't work well and eventually broke.  For a manual pump, it was amazing compared to the electric.  It is comfortable, easy to use, and great for taking places.  It comes with many replacement parts, although I have not needed any of them yet.  The pump is so easy to use, and it doesn't take much time at all to use.  I am able to use this pump and be done even faster than an electric.  The handle is comfortable to use, and doesn't wear out your hand too much.  The suction is great on it, and just about any bottle will fit.  It is also very quiet.  The only downfall I can see is that there are a few more parts to take off and clean.  But it is easy to clean and put together, only taking a few minutes.   The price was maybe a little more than some other brands, but definitely worth it.  I have alway thought Lansinoh was a great brand, and this product just makes me like the company more.

It's best, from the breast

I aboslutely LOVE this breast pump! I have four boys all of whom I've breastfed. In the past I had a Medela manual breast pump but it got worn out so I bought this pump just before the birth of our fourth son. It is easy to assemble, easy to clean, and easy to use. It is comfortable and expresses the milk quickly and easily. You can determine the level of suction simply by how much pressure you apply. I think this pump is one of the best on the market and would recommend it to anyone. I like how easy it is to take apart adn clean, it even comes with a cleaning brush to get into the small spaces. I love how it's base can be placed on the bottom of the bottle or around the mouth of the pump, providing two easy options for storage when not in use - that's a great inovation, in my opinion.  Plus I like the color, I like the purple of **Lansinoh **better than the yellow of Madela. In short: I Love it, Love it, Love it!

Great value

Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump is a wonderful product for nursing moms who will occasionally need to pump and give the baby a bottle.  I even used it twice or three times daily when I went back to work.  An electric pump would have been faster, but I found that with practice, this worked just fine and was in our budget.  The pump is of high quality and includes two bottles and two valves. After a year and a half of pumping I have not had to change the valve and the bottles still work well.  We did not use them exclusively though so they have not been used this whole time.  It takes a few times to be able to put the pump together and take it apart, but once you get used to it, it will be second nature. Washing it is simple and I just did it by hand with a brush and water. Then I'd boil it for five minutes afterwards and let it air dry. The Lansinoh milk storage bags are great to use for storing the milk.  They have a double zipper so milk stays inside and also a place to write the date and amount of milk stored.
