I am typically a Mario Badescu groupie, so I am continually disappointed by their Enzyme Cleansing Gel - it's just not that spectacular of a product (especially in comparison to rest of their products, that are typically superstars!). Nonetheless, time and time again I keep trying this product, thinking there must be something that I've missed, surely I've done something wrong to not be thoroughly smitten with facial cleanser from Mario Badescu, as I so normally am! But it might be time to admit that I'm just not blown away with this! I mean, it's not bad - it's a thinner kind of creamy liquid with a decent smell. And it does get my face clean, and it is very gentle. It's fine, it's just not that spectacular of a product, which I've been spoiled and have come to expect from this line. Effectiveness As I said, it does effectively cleanse quite gently. Ease of Application Quite easy to apply, this liquid cleanser spreads and rinses easily. Scent Nothing special. It doesn't smell bad, but it doesn't smell good either.

I have used this facial cleanser for a few years with no problem. I have combination skin that tends toward sensitive, and I think I have a slight amount of rosacea. This cleanser does not heal the redness, but it does not irritate it at all. I have read other people say that this cleanser increases their milia (little white bumps that are clogged pores, but not actually zits.) I do also have a few areas with milia, but I am not sure if it is because of this creamy cleanser, or just that I am at an age where I have skin changes. The texture is medium-thick, and it is non-foaming. Ease of Application Comes in two sizes bottles, either 8 oz or 16 oz. The larger bottle is a lot, and I was able to pour some into a smaller bottle for the shower. If you want a foaming cleanser, this is not for you. Scent I am very picky about fragrances I put on my body, especially anything near my nose. The fragrance is light and unobtrusive, the ingredients list Grapefruit and Papaya, however it is not overly fruity, it is more of a "fresh" scent.

I was not impressed by this enzyme cleanser. It also has parabens in it. It did not make me feel clean and refreshed, instead I had to follow it up with another cleanser. This product is probably great if you have normal skin. But, I had oily skin during pregnancy and this was not the product that worked for me. I was not a huge fan. Effectiveness I had pregnancy induced acne and this cleanser didn't touch it. I used it at the recommendation of a friend who said it was great for acne, but it didn't affect my acne prone skin, and didn't even make me feel clean. I used this and followed up with a different, exfoliating cleanser afterward to see any difference. I believe the other exfoliating cleanser made the difference, not this enzyme cleanser. Ease of Application It was very easy to use and did not drip or leak. Packaging was very well thought out and worked well. Scent Smelled fresh and clean. It was refreshing and light. It was not flowery or overly smelly. It was subtle and extremely pleasant.

I've been using this cleansing gel for over 5 years and absolutely love it. It doesn't leave my face feeling tight and dry. It completely washes away make-up, oils and dirt from the day. It leaves my face feeling fresh and clean.

I have been a fan of Mario Madescu for quite some time now, however this product, Enzyme Cleansing Gel is my all-time favorite! First let me tell you a little bit about my skin type- I have skin that changes with the seasons (oily t zone in the summer, and dry skin in the winter, and my skin is sensitive and acne prone). For years I struggled with finding the right cleanser that would effectively remove dirt and makeup without drying my skin out. The hunt was over when I discovered this product! It is glycerin based, and non foaming...but don't let that fool you into thinking it doesn't work. The trick is to massage a little pea sized amount of the gel all over your face in circular motions, for about a minute. This will loosen all of the bad stuff from your pores and face. Since it is glycerin based, it is super gentle and moisturizing. And it has fruit extracts to help with the removal of dead skin cells. I have noticed far fewer breakouts since using this cleanser also. No need for harsh chemicals- these simple ingredients will take care of all your skin woes. Seriously check out these ingredients! Deionized Water (Aqua),Glycerin,Papaya (Carica Papaya Fruit) Extract,Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis Fruit) Extract,Monomide,Triethanolamine,Methylparaben How simple is that? I have extremely sensitive skin.  It is also oily with the occasional dryness...not an easy combination to take care of!  Dry skin formulas usually make my skin more oily, oily skin formulas seem to be too harsh and cause problems with my skin.  I feel like I have tried everything there is to try out there, and at whatever cost!  I was reading a magazine and Mario Badescu products were featured in an article and the article gave it good reviews, so I decided to give it a try.  Am I happy I did!  I absolutely love these products!  They are the only thing I've found that keeps my skin regulated.  My skin looks and feels great!  I started out trying the Enzyme Cleanser, and I liked it so well that I ended up buying the entire line recommended for my skin type!  I have been using them for well over a year now, and I have been extremely happy with them.  Another plus with these products in the price.  Apparently the company uses 'no-frills' packaging in order to keep the prices down.  What we get is an amazing product that competes with the extremely expensive products, performing just as well if not better, at a fraction of the price!  I also like that if you sign up on the website they will send you some samples of their recommendations after you've filled out a skin-type survey so that you can try them before you buy them!

I am a big fan of Mario Badescu products. I have now tried several of his products and am a loyal user. This is my all time staple. I keep this bottle in my shower and use it every day. I have sensitive combination skin. I have that T-zone oily area at times, and then at time my forehead can be dry. I am always looking for something very mild and gentle but yet effective. This is a great face wash. It has a very clean and gentle smell. It doesnt really lather up, but you dont need it to. You massage it into your face as youwould with any other cleanser and then simply rinse away. I love it! Works great for sensitive and normal skin. If you have really oily or acne prone skin, I would probably try one of his other products specifically for oily skin. I have tried those too, and all his stuff works great. Never leaves your skin feeling stripped of its moisture. I make sure to take this cleanser with me on all my trips as well. I wont leave home with out it. It is very basic but great!

I received a sample of the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel and was really excited because Proactiv had kind of stopped working for me, and I was really hoping that this system would take its place! Unfortunately I did not love a lot of the products I received, including this one. It smells good and feels really good on your face. It's very soothing, and would probably be great for people with sensitive skin. Unfortunately, I don't think its that great for people who have more than the occasional breakout. Since this product doesn't have benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, there really are not any ingredients that fight acne. So this product would probably be great for anyone who doesn't really have to deal with acne, but personally, I need a little more for my skin. I didn't see any great improvement (or any improvement at all) on my skin while using this product, or the entire bunch of products I received from Mario Badesu.

The **Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel **is another sample that I received from the company. Generally speaking I liked the product, but I'm not sure that it is worth spending so much money on when there are many products that are comparable in quality but much lower in price. I liked the feel of the enzyme cleansing gel, which has a medium consistency (not too thick, and not too watery/runny). Also, the cleansing gel smells pretty nice (I don't really know how to describe it, but it smells pretty mild and I'm sure most people would not have a problem with it). I used it about two times a day, once in the morning after waking up and once again at night before I went to sleep. It left my face feeling fresh and clean, and it did not dry out my skin (which is an important factor for me when I consider face washes/products, etc). Overall, I would recommend this product to those who are willing to spend a bit more on face products.****

I used to swear by Pro-Activ...that is until I found Mario Bodescu.  The Enzyme cleansening gel is amazing.  It smooths on your face like a true gel...none of the soapy suds.  My face is very sensitive and this cleans and removes the oil without being too harsh.  I used to get frequent break outs while using Pro-Activ...not anymore.  I combine the enzyme cleanser with the astringent (yellow in color) and use both twice daily.  The change in my skin has been fabulous.  The enzyme cleanser comes in a variety of sizes but by far, the largest bottle is the best use of your money.  The bottle lasts me a little over 6 months...which makes the whole system about 1/3 (or less) than the cost of Pro-Active.
