My first mascara was by Maybelline, so I'm fond of the brand. I don't go for a "natural" look with mascaras, but I want thick, full, flared lashes. This is an achievable task with other mascaras I've used, so I know it's not an unreasonable expectation. The first thing I noticed about this mascara was the smell. It is a very strong, honey-like smell. Which sounds pleasant, but it doesn't go away for a while after application, and it irritates my eyes. It also flakes on me. While I really dislike the formula, I do like the brush. I also like the packaging, but that has very little to do with whether or not I'll continue using a product. I'll be tossing this in my back up mascara drawer to use in case I'm ever in a bind, not that it ever happens since I compulsively buy new mascaras to try all the time. Sometimes mascara formulas aren't that great fresh from the tube and need to sit for a couple weeks after being opened once, but I can't do the smell and subject my eyes to the itchiness again. Ease of Application I didn't find it that buildable.

Ok, to start off....... when i first bought it, the package said no clumping!!!! I was soo..... excited. But then again.. almost all mascaras we see today say no clumping. When I first used it, it did clump!! I was soo...... ANGRY!!!! But.... when I started to use it a little more.. it stopped clumping!! It did put flakes on my eye lashes but, i LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best mascaras I have used in a long time. I have reviewed other mascaras before and I did genuinely like them. But the search to find the one true product that I definately like, I believe, may have ended here! I like the fact that the brush is packaged next to the tube as opposed to being inside is a real plus because the product isn't saturated on the brush before you use it. It also means that the product won't goop all over your lashes when you apply it. The brush acts like a little comb separating and coating almost each and every individual lash so that it makes you look like you have more lashes than before. I used to have to utilize a time consuming little trick to separate each of my lashes and wait til each coat dried to do that and apply another coat. I chose the waterproof kind in the hopes that it wouldn't smudge all over my upper brow and below my lower lashes and was very happy to find that this was the case. It is easy to remove with soap, water or makeup remover. I am very happy with this product.

I have two problems. One, I'm addicted to mascara. Two, almost all of the mascaras I try disappointment me on most levels. This is an expensive habit! I had low expectations for this mascara because I'm used to being let down, but it is actually better than I thought it would be. The bright pink and sea green colors on the packaging that remind me of Miami Vice is what lured me to this mascara. The packaging is definitely eye-catching. Good job Maybelline. The package says that this product offers: - Big volume, lash by lash - A "Lash Catcher" brush that catches, coats & de-clumps - Clump-free, big volume **My Experience** When I pulled the brush out of the wand, I was excited to see silicone/plastic bristles. They seem to work the best at separating lashes and grabbing each and every one of them. My experience wasn't much different in terms of grabbing all my lashes, but I didn't feel that it did a very good job of separating. Now down to the nitty gritty. Did this mascara provide length and volume? Yes! I was blown away with the wicked length I received from this mascara. It extended my lashes really far...farther than "lengthening" mascaras. The fact that this is a volumizing mascara really surprised me since the length is what really wowed me. Not to say that it didn't add volume, because it did, but I think the length it provides is its main attraction. My mascara seemed to keep in place and not flake. It is also easy to wash off. The reason why I gave **Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Mascara **4 stars is because it leaves my lashes looking spidery. I always curl my lashes before I apply mascara and this mascara always flattens them out and sends them all over the place. It doesn't look too bad, but it's not the long, thick, neat, curled look that would make it a 5 star mascara. Regardless, this is a great mascara that provides tons of length, a good bit of volume and is average with separation. I would buy it again.

I am still on my quest to find the perfect mascara, one that doesn't smudge during the day and doesn't flake. I am not looking for too much drama, just a little wakeup for the eye area for everyday. Maybelline One by One Volum Express Mascara does not smudge. I have it in the washable formula and it does not smudge after a day of wear. I put on just one coat and my lashes were fuller and a little longer. I would say that there was a little bit of clumping, but not really enough to mention. I ran a little comb through my lashes and they were perfect. Then half way through the day it started flaking on me. It might be due to the fact that I could 'feel' this mascara on my eyelashes and started touching them, but my eyes were left a flaky mess. But that is always my problem either it smudges or flakes, I'm still on that search for the perfect mascara.

It gives my lashes great definition, volume, and length with no clumps or flaking. ***My Take on Maybelline One by One Volum Express Mascara *** This mascara comes in a dark pink tube with a pink medium sized brush. The brush is supposed to have three bristles for each lash to triple coat and cover each tiny lash. I bought Very Black. I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. I usually prefer CoverGirl mascaras when it comes to drugstore types. However, this stuff is GOOD! I used** Maybelline One by One Volum Express Mascara** on my bare, unprimed lashes and was really surprised at the length, volume, and definition I got. My lashes truly popped and were not stuck together at all. Each lash looked to be completely separated from the others giving my lashes a fanned out appearance. The color is very dark which, with my brunette hair and brown eyes, is a must. There were no clumps at all no matter how many layers I applied. The mascara didn't flake a bit either. When I used **Maybelline One by One Volum Express Mascara** on primed lashes, the results were even better. I had a fan of very noticeable lashes that didn't look fake or spidery. I sometimes use this mascara on top of [The Falsies Mascara][1] which I adore at the moment. The two give me VAVAVAVOOM lashes and neither clumps or flakes. Alone or with other mascaras, **Maybelline One by One Volum Express Mascara** really adds definition and drama to my lashes. I am definitely buying more when the time comes. This one will go into my "favorite drugstore mascaras" bin. Yes...bin. ***My Viewpoint*** **Maybelline One by One Volum Express Mascara** performs really well for me. One coat is enough to give me eye popping long, thick lashes, A few coats gives me drama. This doesn't flake or clump.
