Not too quiet, not too noisy. Internal layout is a bit awkward, not very well thought of. Quality of wash is average, not always everything comes clean, even with proper spacing and no baked on stuff on dishes. Control panel is clumsy, end is sticking out (it's glued on) and it fails quite often so you have to replace it for a significant cost (do it yourself comes to around  88 bucks if you order part from sears or up to over 300 if you call somebody and/or buy the part from most places for over 169).  From the word of repairman Whirlpool brand is more dependable, even if it owns Maytag too.  Maytag repairman, time to wake up! :)
