We have had this dishwasher for only 3 years.  The handle cracked already and we bought a new one.  It required a warantee service for a fire hazard, and now we are constantly dealing with a sandy grit being redeposited on our dishes/glasses on the top rack.  We have taken it apart, cleaned out various elements, and still always have some glasses with what looks like sandy dirt in the bottom of them.  We always rinse our dishes before loading (which they say you don't need to do) and have resorted to useing Finish Dishwasher cleaner once a month. We use our dishwasher about 2 to 3 times a day with our large family, but had our previous dishwasher for 12 years with this problem only a few times.  I guess you get what you pay for. It is a quieter dishwasher than the one before, and has all the options for cycles that you would want.  I wish it had a read-out of how much time is left in the cycle.  It does seem to be a longer cycle than most. We will be replacing this dishwasher when we can, and in the meantime handwashing the glasses after each load! Finally replaced it with an older used dishwasher--so much nicer, and quicker! Didn't realize how long of a cycle this dishwasher had.
