I Miss Comcast

1

Moved to another part of our city not serviced by Comcast, so I've been with Mediacom for four months. First, the original cable installer didn't show. Second, bill goes up $42 after three months, $180 for their basic TV and slowest internet package. Apparently, they had a Tivo promo for three months that I didn't hear about when signing up. So now I have to get another cable guy out to downgrade equipment. Apparently they automatically cancel if you can't get to the phone in time to take the "be there in 20 minutes" call. So they cancelled. I took time off of work to be home for this. Overall, my impression of the company and its phone reps is that they are not as customer-focused and knowledgeable as Comcast. That cancelled service call is the last straw. Will start researching alternatives starting Monday.

Transferring services

1

We recently moved to a new home. We asked to transfer services a couple a weeks ahead of time so we wouldn't lose any services. Mediacom set it up to make it happen. Service Tech came that night of the schedule appointment while running new cable lines he ran into some difficulties. The signal wasn't coming through the new lines. He said the tap outside must be bad so had to call in a work order to repair/put a new tap in the box. Now we have wait over a week(almost 2 weeks) so another Tech can come to our home install our services. I don't understand why have to wait so long for repairs an installation especially when then they advertise easy and stress free installation. We pay our bills on time. This so ridiculous. It's very frustrating. We are currently looking for other services.

I would tell everyone about this company, and service.

What can I truly say about this company? Well, I have been with Media-com for over 5 years, and I've had some problems, but they were resolved super fast, and in a timely matter as well, I have always had them make me a appointment to come to my house, and fix what I needed to get fixed. Yes, it does go down from time to time, but that is so they can upgrade things, and make sure that everything is set to be done, and that everything is running smooths, for it's client, like myself. If I had to choose, from any company, I would highly recommend them, I have the plan of higher speeds, and pay a little bit more than what I have with any other company, but with this company you are getting what you pay for. They will also alert you if you reach close to your usage. (Which I don't get that anymore, since I'm on a high plan with them) They are a great start up company to go with, if you need to get internet, cable, or even phone. I will be staying with them for years. I'm satisfied.

Service is expensive

2

The service is very expensive. The internet sometime is very slow some of my shows do not record completely. I have been a customer for 3 years and they are the only company that services my area. Their app is pointless unless you want to pay your bill. I've has my cable line cut and had to wait a week for them to come and fix it. It was like pulling teeth to get them to credit my account. The customer service is useless when you are trying to downgrade your service. They don't offer existing customers any incentives.

Horrible cable/internet provider

1

I can't tell you how much I hate Mediacom. My family has been a long time subscriber but their service is horrible.... customer service is worse...and prices are inflated. At this Point our cable has been out 2 full days and not only has Mediacom not contacted us to explain the problem and give us a potential date of solution to the problem... when we contacted Mediacom all they could tell us was there's an outage in your area and we are working on it. Take my word for it.... save yourself a headache and go with Dish Network or AT&T U-verse or anything other than Mediacom!

Retuning Customer

4

I have been a returning customer of Mediacom's for many years. I mainly use their internet. Granted, I have moved quite a few times, and each time posed a new and unique problem with their service, there were always there to get it fixed with no questions asked. I subscribe to their 100 megabit package, and more often than not I get ten or more over that. Great service, and just as great customer service.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!

1

I have had nothing but trouble with Mediacom since they went digital. My internet goes down OFTEN! My phone is out. My TIVO box shuts down another TV's box. I call for service and it's a week out. They call my husband's cell who misses the call. I shortly thereafter call the 800 number to make sure they don't cancel the service call. They tell me it wasn't but to call if the service tech doesn't come by 5. Guess what? The service tech cancels the call at 3:30 p.m. The 800 number says they will call me back to schedule another appt. THEY DON'T! I then call back to see what is going on and by this time I'm not happy. Now it's another week. SERVICE WITH MEDIA COM IS HORRIBLE!!!!

Questionable service

3

My main internet and cable provider is Mediacom. We have the highest internet they offer. Yesterday I noticed my download speeds aren't how they should be and I contacted them. Turns out I'm only using 25.06 mbps out of the supposed 100mbps. I think they lie about their speeds and things like that. However, their customer service is phenominal. Everytime I have a problem with something, they're right on top of it. Some times they're kind of in the dark on the situation. I believe they could be higher educated on the products. And the service techs are horrible. I had one come out last week and try to fix my internet, when all he done was unplug my router and say I HAD to use the router Mediacom provided, keep in mind I had the router they installed turned off when I first ordered their services. And when he done that it made me wonder if I was being charged for a router I wasn't using. when I called they said I WAS being charged for it. I have been being charged for a router I wasn't using. Tthey gave me a $40 bill credit though. Ooverall my experience with Mediacom has been a questionable one. I wouldn't say I hate them but I wouldn't say I loved them either

Worst Service EVER

1

Mediacom is a company that does not bury cables. I asked for 3 years for a cable to be buried and it did not happen. I called to cancel my service and I had to pay for an additional 30 days because it states it on every bill. (it was not on my bill) They say they have higher speed internet but we loose service at least once a day. Customer service is a joke. I would NEVER recommend Mediacom
