The Grind and Brew does exactly what it sounds like it will do- grind and then brew your coffee for you. If it got any easier, it would have a drive up window with it! Its very simple to use- simply add your beans to the grinding hopper, place a filter in the basket, fill with water and then you can either turn it on or set the timer for it to come on up to 24 hours later! And if you have pre-ground coffee, that's not a problem, simply hit the "grind off" button and the machine will automatically skip this step and move on to brewing your coffee. However, if you are an infrequent drinker of coffee who is trying to impress your friends who love freshly ground coffee and forget to clean out the machine after each use, you will find that over time, the grinding part of the coffee maker will cease to work. I have unfortunately gotten the grinding blade stuck with gunk, the motor tries to turn, but nothing happens. However, I got such a bargain on this machine, that I simply went out and bought a little separate electric grinder and simply added a step to my morning- which means I'm loving the "grind off" button!

I love my coffee maker.  Almost a year after I got it, the grinder started grinding the plastic.  I was so disappointed becuase I thought I would have to get rid of it.  I contaced Mr. Coffee and they replaced the whole thing...AT NO COST!!!  Now, it works great.  Clean up is a little time consuming, but I have it down to a science now.

This may be the most inexpensive grind and brew on the market but it is not short on performance. Makes a great cup of coffee! Love the ability to set it to brew later and that it has automatic shut off. Also, the button to set the brew strength to "Strong" is fabulous. Lots of features of other brands without the hefty price tag. Bought this one to replace one just like it. Only the water channel had come loose from the grinding chamber but it was still usable. Just wanted a fresh one! You do have to clean and dry the grinding chamber after each use but this is no more inconvenient that using a separate grinder. I really like being able to add beans and water and getting fresh-ground, fresh-brewed coffee at whatever time I choose. It's a great Mr. Coffee product. The only "downside" I find is that if you are using an 'oilier' coffee bean, cleaning out the grinder apparatus is a bit tedious in comparison to when you are using a 'drier' bean.  Buy it and I don't think you will be sorry!

Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Grind & Brew Coffee Maker GBX23 makes me a much nicer person in the morning. Seriously, don't even talk to me until I've a few sips of my morning crack um I mean coffee! I like this coffee maker a lot. I especially like that the grinder is built in but boy is it ever loud. The grinder seems to take forever to grind the beans as well. Other than that, no major complaints. I like that it has a strong brew setting for those mornings where I want my java extra strong. I thought the price on the Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Grind & Brew Coffee Maker GBX23 was reasonable enough when I purchased it. It's nice looking on the counter and has a programmable brew feature that I've honestly never used. I bought this almost 2 years ago after our old coffeepot bit the big one. Mr. Coffee GBX23 12-Cup Coffee Maker has been a worthwhile investment and I would totally recommend it for someone who wants a good coffeemaker without a ton of fuss.

This was the only coffee maker that we have seen that has a grinder that is built into the actual coffee maker. My husband and I love using whole beans and grinding them to make a fresh batch of coffee. This was so convenient because there is a timer that the night before I could put the beans and water in the coffee maker to prepare it for making coffee for the next morning. I set the time and it was set to grind and brew for a busy morning. The coffee maker however, does take a little longer to brew the entire pot compared to other coffee makers we have had in the past. Also, since the grinder is included, there are a couple more parts to wash that can be hard to completely get the grinds out of the grinder. However, for the price for both a coffee maker and a grinder the price was very reasonable and possibly cheaper than buying them separately. It also saved on space from buy two different products and the coffee maker is no bigger than a normal coffee maker. I would recommend this coffee maker to those who especially like using whole bean coffee but the coffee maker also allows you to use already ground coffee as well.
