I have been quite happy with this company and their food. Their ingredients listed are a lot better than other companies that I have bought in the past. However, one concern is the labeling. In human food, the ingredients are listed in order on the label starting with which ingredient is in the food in the highest quantity. I don't know if it's the same for pet food but meat or protein is not the first ingredient they list in their food. They do have plenty of proteins listed but I hate seeing oatmeal or tomatoes listed as the first ingredient in my carnivorous dogs food. Overall though I'm satisfied with this brand and this particular formula. My little guy loves it and even though it his breath still smells, I've noticed his bathroom habits have improved a lot and that he has been maintaining a normal weight since we've started trying this food. He used to be swollen and constipated but I've found a few foods that work now and this one never leaves him constipated or with the runs. It's gross to talk about but fellow pet owners can appreciate this. Quality of Ingredients This food has sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. Those I don't care much for but some of the better ingredients listed are fish broth, salmon, protein, ocean fish, and even fish oil. The ingredients listed are simple and I understand them. The ingredients aren't bogged down with tons of grains and veggies like many others. I do wonder what is up with all the potatoes but I can get behind the fish and fish proteins in this food. Flavor Selection They have several varieties and unlike many foods, this company actually has a lot of different proteins to choose from. Most companies just offer poultry but this company offers livestock, fish, and poultry. It's a good selection.

This sweet potato & fish dog food saved my dog from poor health overnight. We tried so many foods for his delicate system, and never even thought to put him on a fish diet until our friend who works at local pet supplies store pointed this food out. I'm writing this Natural Balance dog food review because I believe this product is 100% wonderful, and I trust this company because they are one of the few who test every batch of food they sell, and I can check that my bag is safe on their website. This food and brand is top notch!

Not that there are many unhappy Havanese! My little guy Sammy is the fishy smelling dog! I have grown a bit fond actually the smell, considering we live a few blocks from the Pacific Ocean, he fits right in. On a serious bote, being allergy prone is another breed trait. When he was 8 months old, we were already at the vet talking about this. Sammy has symptoms of airborne, contact and food allergies. We talked about either modifying food or testing for contact allergies. A mere 3 weeks after we changed him to Natural Balance Fish and Sweet Potato food, I was so happy to see him stop itching, biting and pawing at his ears! I get this food in both can and dry form at the local feed store for a very reasonable price. I am that dog Mom who would happily spend more for quality, wholesome products.  I highly recommend Natural balance Fish and Sweet Potato Dog Food.

I love this food because it is grain-free and has all natural ingredients and no by-products.  It even smells good!  My dog is pretty picky when it comes to dry food, but he really likes this one.  His coat is nice and soft too.

     I have a 3 year old Chinese Shar-pei who I have had a difficult time with regarding her health. When she was 6 months old she began throwing up anything she ate and what she didn't throw up she squirted out the other end! I took her back and forth to the vet trying this prescription food and that prescription food along with meds with no luck. I was so scared I would loose her! Then I saw Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish hypoallergenic hard dog food at my local pet store and decided I might as well try it with her. I couldn't believe it!!! She could keep this food down!!! The vet was shocked too and examined the ingredients, then admitted this seemed to be an excellent quality food. Hope (my shar-pei) is now 3 years old and functions as normally as any dog as long as she eats Natural Balance and takes her meds.Also, just so you know, I used to work at a pet store and people have told me this food has worked miracles for their dogs who were  suffering from food allergies and skin rashes. I am so grateful for finding this product as I truly believe Hope would not be here without it!

I started feeding my dogs Natural Balance sweet potato and fish about a year ago.  Even though I was giving them supplements their coat seemed to be a little dry.  Since I switched over to this food I noticed it is no longer dry and their fur seems to be silkier and softer. Before I switched over I researched them on line and they were one of the highest rated natural dog foods.    They are so safety concious that they even have a website were you can enter in the expiration date of your food and they will give you testing results on it. I highly recommend it.

I am a self-described Dog Food Snob. I've done the research, and I read the ingredients on the bag before even considering giving a food to my dogs. Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance passes my strict guidelines! The ingredients are quality. There is no corn, soy, or wheat which can lead to allergies in some dogs. Fish oils are very good for dogs with skin issues, which a lot of foster dogs have when they come to me. The real test, though, is that my dogs love it. One of my dogs will eat anything, but the other is a real picky eater. I've never seen her enjoy a dog food as much as this one! Nutritious, healthy, and apparently delicious!
