This baby formula is great for babies who refuse to eat or who are underweight. My daughter had extreme eczema, to the point where her skin would feel like a hard shell. She had a steroid rebound and was admitted into the hospital. She lost five pounds because the steroids and antibiotics took away her appetite. Her doctor put her on neocate during her hospital stay. Before neocate, she wouldn't drink anything. Instantly, her appetite picked up and she was feeling better. By the time we left the hospital, my daughter had gained all of her weight back. Thank you so much for making this formula. Without it, my daughter wouldn't have gained her weight back. Easily Digested It went down pretty smoothly. She didn't experience much reflux with this formula and it helped her gain weight. Ease of Preparation Very easy to prep. Just add the proper amount of water based on the package or by the request of your doctor.

We had intended on exclusively breastfeeding our baby since my husband is allergic to dairy and I'm lactose and soy intollerant. When breastfeeding just wasn't working out for all of our baby's nutrition we went straight to Neocate. It is a blessing that there is a formula that does not have dairy or soy. A few points to consider, Neocate is digested quite easily (similar to breastmilk) so it's normal for the baby to want to feed on the dot every two hours. Our son had green stools, which were were told was normal being on Neocate (again because it's digested so easily). I've heard about children who have eczema getting better after being on Neocate. Our son has had eczema since he was around 2 months old and he was given Neocate until he was 6 months old. The Neocate didn't seem to help his eczema, so I guess it all depends on the child and the specific allergies. The biggest disappointment I had about Neocate is that it contains corn syrup. I would prefer a non-corn derived sweetener. I also wish it was available without iron. Other than those, I was satisfied with Neocate and would recommend it to a friend.

Prior to trying Neocate, my daughter tried Similac Advance Early Shield, Enfamil Lipil Gold, Enfamil Gentlease, Enfamil Prosobee, Alimentum, and Nestle Goodstart.  After trying all of those formulas and unsuccesfully trying to breastfeed my daughter, we were desperate.  Her Pediatrician sent us to a GI since she wasn't sure what else to try.  Her GI said that even though she didn't have blood in her stools, she appeared to have both a milk and soy protein allergy.  She had horrible ezcema which covered her face and arms.  He said it was likely the result of her allergy.  He told us to try Neocate but that we needed to give it a full two weeks to know if it was helping.  It wasn't an overnight solution like I had hoped, but by the end of the two week trial, my daughter was a completely different baby.  Prior to trying Neocate, she would scream in pain with each feeding and began to refuse feedings altogether.  Since she's been on Neocate, her ezcema is under control, her refulx has improved and she's a happier baby altogether.  It is, however, outrageously expensive and if it weren't for a state law which forces my insurance to cover the cost of the formula, I would not be able to afford to keep my daughter on it.  It is also difficult to find.  It is not carried in stores, so you have to order it either online, or have your local pharmacy order it.  If your insurance covers it, or if you can afford to pay for it out of pocket, I highly reccommend trying Neocate!

Ahhh, is how my baby felt after being switched to Neocate.  He was colic and had very bad reflux.  Neocate was the only formula that helped him.  I used it for almost a year.  If you have tried all the rest and nothing is helping, try Neocate.  It may be a bit more pricey, but it was well worth it.

My son had severe acid reflux when he was born.  It took a while to find the right formula and medication combination that worked to eliminate the constant vomiting.  This formula worked.  I had even tried the hypoalerginic formulas that you can buy in the store but they did not work.  Although this formula was expensive and a little bit of a challenge since they can only ship it, it worked and was worth every penny I spent weekly.  It was not long before my son was able to eat regular food.  This really saved the day.

After my daughter was born we tried breastfeeding which didnt go well so we went to formula before she was two weeks old. We tried the regular with iron formulas and she would get horrible stomach pains, gas and diarrhea. We then tried a gentle formula and she still did not do well so we went to a hypoallergenic one and once again she was still having stomach issues. We finally called Neocate and got a sample to try. Within one day of starting it her poops became more solid and she actually ate an entire bottle! She started to gain weight and wasnt as fussy or colicy. After her year birthday we did testing and found out she was allergic to milk and soy which was why she was having such a hard time with the milk and soy based formula's. She is now 12 months old and we are still on the Neocate. It has been a lifesaver for us and without it I honestly dont know what we would have fed her. She loves the taste and rarely leaves any behind!
