I love the Neutrogen Deep Clean Nightly Cleanser because of the smell! It really does have a great smell that makes you want to go to sleep or just relax. It is very calming and soothing. I also like how well the cleanser cleans my skin. There is never any harsh rubbing or stinging with this cleanser. Always I have gotten a very deep clean that is removing all the dirt and oil from within my pores. It really helps to keep my face looking younger. I always follow up with a moisturizer, but my skin has never been flaky, dull, or stretched out due to this cleanser. I would highly recommend this to others. Effectiveness Works great at cleansing your skin without being harsh and harmful. It is always also good at relaxing you! Ease of Application You always get a really great lather going with just a small amount of soap. You never have to use a whole bunch of the cleanser which means one bottle will last you awhile. Scent I love the relaxing scent. It is, indeed a great use for night time or before relaxing. It always calms me down and leaves me feeling refreshed.

I definitely didn't like the consistency of this product. It just felt very goopy and bad on my face, and it didn't make me feel refreshed or 'relaxed' when I used it at night time. I had gone into this with high hopes, it just didn't deliver exactly what I wanted out of a good hair product. It didn't cleanse my face too well, just on the surface, but it didn't actually get deep into my pores or anything. This fell short of my expectations.

I LOVE the regular Neutrogena Deep Clean facial cleanser, so I thought I would try this nighttime, calming variety. I was pretty disappointed. I didn't really like the "gel" texture, and my face just didn't feel as clean. I have oily skin, and the regular Deep Clean does a great job of leaving my skin feeling clean and not too dry. This one just doesn't seem to break through the oil as well. I do like the beads in it and I love the smell, but I won't be buying this product again.

I love Neutrogena skin care products. I have sensitive skin and I find their products to be gentle on my skin. None of their products has ever irritated my skin unlike other brands. You can take their tagline "dermatologist recommended" to the bank. I was attracted to this product first because I have tried the original deep clean facial cleansers and it worked for me. I have combination skin type and deep cleansing is essential to get all the oils out to avoid shine and to prevent the development of blackheads. I was attracted then to the color. I love purple/violet. That it is lavender scented was a big plus. Though I am not really sure I get relaxed by the scent. It is pleasant though. i have been using it for more than a month now and it has worked great for me. My skin feels smooth and clean and yet not at all dry. Used with the scrub in the same line, your skin will gradually attain baby skin-softness.

Besides for it's color, I bought Neutrogena's Deep Clean Relaxing Nightly Cleanser for it's claim to be a relaxing nightly face wash.  I'm a big fan of the awakening Neutrogena products, as well as the lavender scented make-up removal cloths so I thought this cleanser would be an obvious win.  They are really easy to use.  Pump the product into your hands, form a lather, and apply to your face. I can't say that I am disappointed in the product, but I also can not say that I was blown away with it's performance.  The lavendar smell it is infused with smells more chemically than it does lavendar.  The wipes they make smell awesome so I was somewhat miffed at this.  Another reason I was somewhat disappointed was because I don't think the product was as moisturizing as the other Neutrogena products I've used.  My face gets to be pretty dry in the winter so I am in the habit of using a moisturizing lotion in the morning & before bed at night after I wash my face.  Once my face dried, I could feel my skin tightening up.  I can't say I don't like this product, however.  Though the scent wasn't really what I expected, I wasn't completely disappointed with it.  I can say that this cleanser also did a good job at removing the daily gunk and grime that I feel like accumulates throughout the day.  My three stars are simply because this product is like all the other cleansers out there & I suppose I expected more out of a Neutrogena product.  I wouldn't NOT recommend it, but just don't go into it with high hopes.

I usually stay away from anything that has to do with "gel".  That includes aloe vera.  Can't stand the way gels feel.  That is until I tried this product.  Maybe it was the color of the product.  I love lavender.  Anyway, I only use 1 squirt on my hands then massage it onto my face and boy does it feel good.  It rinses off very easily and makes your skin feel really nice and soft.  Usually I'm having to race for the cream before my skin dries out but not with this product.  I then use my night cream.  I'm 61 and don't want or have to use the heavy duty stuff yet.
