My husband broke my vacuum by sucking up a sock. I was pregnant when he bought this Oreck to replace my Bissel. It's a lightweight machine that I was able to lift even 9 months pregnant but it doesn't have any extra bells or whistles, which in this case I need. I like to be able to use the tube for suction, for getting behind the bed or dresser and also to suck the air out of our space storage bags. This machine does not have that feature so I keep my old broken bissel around for those jobs. Maneuverability It navigates well on my carpet. Ease of Maintenance The bag is easy enough to change. I can do it without getting too much dust everywhere. Suction Performance It's sucks. Versatility It's a vacuum. As I mentioned before, It alone cannot support all I need a vacuum to do in my house. Design I like that it's lightweight, but it's wide and it doesn't fits into small spaces easily. It maneuvers well for the most part. Durability I bang this thing around. I have even dropped it a few times. It takes a beating well.

I love my oreck it is light weight and always does a great job. It is very light and easy to use it picks up well has great sucks-ion. Maneuverability Very easy to maneuver. I have back problems so this vacuum is very light and easy to get around. I have had it for years never had it seriviced it works great just like the first day it was bought. Ease of Maintenance I have had it for years and have not had one problem with it. Suction Performance Suction it great my carpet looks new when I am finished it is great.

I love my Oreck. I went from a hoover to this and don't think I will ever have anything other than an Oreck. I love the fact that it is lightweight. I have back problems and I can lift and use it with no problems. Also my 11 year old can carry it upstairs and vacuum her room. I would definitely tell my friends and family to purchase one.

My mother ran a housekeeping business when I was younger and as being a house cleaner it was most standard that supplies such as vacuums, rags, and cleaning supplies we supplied by the employer. But one thing my mother would never use was their vacuum we alway brought our own which just happened to be an Oreck XL. It was the only vacuum she trusted and now I understand why. I now have my own and I would never use another kind. It is so light weight I can carry it anywhere whether its up stairs or to the far side of my house. And it works for everything. I have 3 black cats and I never have to worry about cat hair on my sofa or floor because my vacuum does all the work. It picks up almost everything. I never have to go back for a second run because it works like it should the first time. I am always cleaning but I know as long as I have my Oreck my job will be 3x less the work. I have never been so pleased with anything else. I LOVE MY ORECK!

Oreck's XL3600 Bagged Upright Vacuum is a great vacuum with a remarkable amount of suction for its weight.  It is light enough even for someone with back problems to use without causing undue discomfort.  Unfortunately, there are no generic bags or belts that will fit the machine.  You must purchase these items directly from Oreck.

My parents had an Oreck at my house while I was living there, so I've been familiar with their light weight vacuums for a while.  Then when I was in graduate school, the girl I shared an apartment had one.  Once I got my own house and needed my own vacuum, I just couldn't settle on a cheaper, heavy vacuum when I was so used to using an Oreck!  These vacuums are so great.  I love how light weight they are!  I can seriously carry it up the stairs in one hand with my baby on my opposite hip.  But that's not the best part of these vacuums.  They really work.  They are much more powerful and thorough at cleaning than their heavier counterparts.  It does a good job of cleaning right up agains the wall and in corners too.  When I bought my vacuum, it included the hand vacuum as well, and that is perfect for cleaning the stairs, cleaning out cars, or for a quick job like a broken glass.  I would NEVER buy another brand of vacuum.  Mine is about 3 years old now, and it still seems like new.

We splurged for the Orek SL3600 when our last vaccum cleaner went out on us.  It is lightweight and super convinient when carrying it up and down our two story home.  We had two shedding dogs at the time so we were vaccuming daily at least.  Well, all went well for a while until the belts broke.  No problem - free service every year for 10 years.  Then the belts broke again...Problem:  Our oriental rugs have thick fibers and the belts are no strong enough to withstand the rugs.  So the store salesman told us to use the attachment and seperate hand held vaccum to clean the rugs.  This is literally a pain in my back and I do not think that the attachment gets the rugs as clean as the vaccum.  So we risk it and go ahead and vaccum the rugs anyway knowing that one day the belts will break.  I am nervous everytime I roll over those rugs.  If you have all wood or short carpet or short rugs then this is a great product.  Do not purchase if you have thick rugs!
