Oster 2-Speed Handheld Blender quick and reliable

4

Oster 2-Speed Handheld Blender is a quick and reliable kitchen tool. I do have a regular blender, also a good brand, but, my kitchen closets are ver small and I keep the blender on the bottom of it, since I don't use it that much, so to get it every day is a hard task. I decided to buy Oster Handheld so I can keep on the top of the sink counter for a day use. I love it. it is a powerful little tool that mixes well and help with lots of diferent tasks. i do my son's chocolate milk, my daughter smoothies in the morning n less than 10 minutes for both. I mix ice cream and milk and make a good milk shake in seconds. It is easy to use, easy to keep, lightweight, affordable and reliable. The only little con detail is that it is a bit messy if we use it in a small bowl.It can spill liquids around, at least it happenned to me a couple of times. Other than that GREAT product!

So far so good

I've had this product for about a month.  I all ready have a food processor and an upright blender, but I wanted this one as well for soups and for easier access than pulling out my larger appliances.  It doesn't pack the punch that my upright blender or food processor would, but for small projects it gets the job done.  I like the fact that it has a measuring cup on the side that allows me to measure my ingredients as I add them for easy blending and less mess with multiple measuring cups.  I also like the fact that it has this grip on the bottom from keeping it to slip on the counter that also doubles as a lid.  I made some white sauce for fish tacos the other night and it was easy to measure, pour and mix all my ingredietns then I was able to store it in the refrigerator until dinnertime with the lid for easy access.  So far it works fine and I really enjoy the product and I'm glad that I purchased it.

Great Little Kitchen Helper

I like my little Oster Hand Blender. I bought it to make baby food. It really met that need. Since then, I have found other uses for it also. It comes with a plastic cup and the cup shape helps the blend the food more evenly. I prefer to use the cup, but now I just use microwaveable glass mixing cup to reduce the amount of cleaning. It has sufficient power to blend baby foods - even small frozen fruits. For larger items, I use the blender or food processor. It has a dial that controls the speed. Over time, the vibration will move the dial down and this will decrease the speed so that the product will not blend well. I just have to remember to turn the speed up periodically for optimum performance. Care must be taken when washing the product. If the top is submerged or splashed with water, the axle will rust and cause a mess. Other than the rust issues, the product is very useful and easy to use. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Oster Hand Blender

My mother bought me the Oster hand blender as a gift for Christmas 2009.  I, being the avid cook that I am, immediately began putting it to regular use.  First of all the little cup that comes with it is really completely useless.  I think mine got shoved to the back of a cupboard the minute I opened it, and it hasn't come out since.  Also, if you are planning on washing the blade portion of this blender in your dishwasher make sure you place it blade side up.  Otherwise, the hollow part of the housing will accumulate a bunch of junk resulting in nasty mold.  I must say that it definitely does blend.  I make a lot of Indian dishes with sauces that contain things like almonds.  This blender will puree the almonds like it's nothing.  Do be careful though because it can get a little messy at times.  If the blender is not entirely submerged and directed at the right angle your food will go everywhere including all over you!  I did encounter one serious problem that makes me give this product a low rating.  After a couple months of use the blade completely broke away from the housing rendering the blender entirely unusable.  Thankfully, the store from which I bought it was able to exchange it for a new one.  Hopefully I don't have the same problem again.

Great hand blender!

I had seen my favorite cooking persona;lity on tv using a hand blender, so I asked my mom if she could help me find one. She found this Oster Hand belnder with the little cup. I immediatly started trying it out. It is a ver reliable product. i love to make salads, so by using this I was able to make my own homeade dressing, which also helped my to cut down on the fat content. I am a gravy queen. i love gravy on everything more meet to mash potatoes. With the hand blender, I don't have to worry about having a nasty lumpy gravy. I always get a smooth consistent gravy that I am proud of. According to mom, this hand blender wan't all that expensive. It is very durable because it doesn't feel as cheaply made as many of the other hand blenders I had looked at and researched. The only dowfall is that I have found it can be hard to clean at times because food tends to stick to the blades alot. Other than that I am pretty well satisfied with this hand blender.

This hand blender can't even mush ice-cream!

My mother-in-law gave us this hand blender (new) and while I love her, I hate this hand blender. It has trouble with ice-cream! I tried to make a milkshake and no go. Add to that the fact that it is difficult to clean and it has sat un-used in the back of a cupboard for over a year now. My sister-in-law swore by the same model when making meals for her toddlers though. I use a fork or scissors to cut or mash food to desired consistency.

the blender is perfect for sauces

I think that the blender with cup if perfect. I was always having trouble doing my gravies when it came to mixing them very well, I always had clumps in it but now this hand held blender makes my saces great. I can make my own salad dressing and put in my own seasons with is perfect since I use to only eat ranch but now I make all kind of dressing. I can also say it comes in handy when I need a easy and quick fruit drink. My husband love to use it when it comes to his barbecue sauces. Instead of having chucks of onions he blend them up and it mixes great with his sauces. I am going to try this on alot more sauces and gravies. I think this hand blender with cup it one of the great thing in my kitchen and I would tell any and everyone I know about it. If you love to cook this a perfect addition to any kitchen. when you need something quick and healthy, like some real fruit juices it is best to make your own because some juics have a lot of sugar.

I love my Oster Immersion Blender!

I love my Oster Immersion 2-Speed Handheld Blender!  I honestly had never heard of this type of blender before a friend gave me a recipe for a bisque soup.  I asked for one for Christmas that year and received the Oster Immersion 2-Speed Handheld Blender.  I've noticed that it has some bad reviews.  I haven't had any problems with it.  It works great and I love being able to use it to make shakes and smoothies as well.  I don't use it too much but have had it about 2 years and it's still like brand new.  I have a blender and use that as well but it's convenient to have the handheld blender as well.  It's easier to clean than a blender is.  I've never had any problem with the motor, it's always worked great.  It's really helpful when you're making a bisque, that's what I use it for primarily.  I would recomend the Oster 2-Speed Handheld Blender to friends and also think it makes a great gift.
