I'm an amateur seamstress.  I have never participated in a professional sewing class in my life.  My Mom got me this sewing machine for Christmas.  I refer to the manual often (it is SO easy to read and simple to follow.  The pictures are great) and I have managed to make a number of curtains and even a small dress for my daughter now.  The sewing machine is VERY easy to use, it has all the basic functions I need to do amateur projects.  I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM with it- ever!  I have owned this product for three years now and I anticipate that it will last for years to come.  I love my PFAFF! I have used it to make button holes, too.  The directions and simple pictures in the manual were easy to follow.  My sister has the same machine and she uses it to make stuffed animals and purses.  We both endorse this product and really like how sturdy it is.  I would definitely recommend this product to another amateur seamstress! It comes with a number of attachments that are helpful as well (the button hole feeder, a seam ripper, a small screw for adjusting the foot and a few other tools I haven't  had the chance to use yet)
