Philosophy's On A Clear Day Oil-Free Acne Spot Treatment doesn't live up to the other philosophy products. It is easy to use, light weight, has no overpowering odor, doesn't dry out skin too much, however it takes awhile for it to work (whereas other products by Philosophy you can see results in days). I use it in the morning and at night and have seen some results in about 4 weeks--not as fast as I would have liked. I also found out that if you don't use a moisturizer over it (On A Clear Day Oil-Free Moisturizer works wonderfully) it tends to dry out the skin a little, not so much that the skin gets flaky or anything, but just enough that you notice it.  When using, all you need is a small amount for the problem area morning and night, making it easy to use during your morning and nightly routines. I recommend using it after you have put on the oil-free all-over acne treatment from the same line.

When it comes to any acne treatments I think the effectiveness of the product is largely dependant on the individual who is using it. Maybe its due to our unique chemical makeups? Anyway, Philosophy's On A Clear Day Oil Free Acne Spot Treatment was some what effective for me but I didn't get the results I was really hoping for. As soon as my bottle is empty I will probably move on to the next product until I find the one that is just right for me. But I suggest giving this treatment a try, it could be the perfect solution for your needs.

I received Philosophy's On a Clear Day Acne Spot Treatment as a gift. I was skeptical at first, but decided to give it a one week trial period. At the start of the trial I had 3 major 'zits'. One of which was one of those painful under the skin types.  Following directions, I washed my face and applied the product. I was surprised it didn't burn at all when I applied it; considering Salicylic Acid is the main ingredient. 24 hours later there was a visible reduction of the "under the skin" zit. The other two also showed improvement. I washed my face and reapplied the product. By the next day all 3 areas were pretty clear, but this product definitely dried my skin out in those areas. So the zits were gone, but i had 3 areas of very dry skin. I exfoliated my skin, then I applied moisturizer all over my face, adding a bit more to those dry areas. This seemed to help. Overall the product works well, I just didn't like the extreme drying effect on my skin. I'll keep using it, keeping in mind the need for more exfoliation and moisturizer.
