This is one of my all time favorite machines. I started having hip problems a few years ago due to running. My doctor advised finding a good elliptical due to it not being as hard on your joints. After doing some research, I decided to go with this machine. I have been extremely satisfied with it. It works great and has held up great. It has a lot of features so I can always mix up my workout. It is easy to use and it fits well in my home. I love using it and it is a great replacement for running. It is also much easier on your joints. I would highly recommend this machine. You could always pay a lot more for a nicer one but this one has been great for me. Performance The performance has been wonderful. It works great and always gives me a great workout. It keeps me in great shape. Comfort It is comfortable to use and fits my stride well. Ease of Use It is very easy to use. It has a lot of features but they are self explanatory. Durability Mine has held up great for a few years now. I have had no problems with it. Design The design is great!

I first began using an elliptical years ago when elliptical machines became all the rage. I found that I really enjoyed using them. I have problems with my one knee and have found that using an elliptical was a fantastic way to work up a sweat while doing a low impact exercise. My husband and I both use this machine but I use it the majority of the time. It is very sturdy and is very smooth. I had another elliptical prior to purchasing this one and it was not smooth, made loud clanking sounds and eventually broke. I have had this elliptical for over two years and use it up to 4 times a week. My husband, as I mentioned, uses it less often. I have never had a problem with this elliptical. it is easy to use, easy to store and you can also dry clothes on it (sorry I could not help myself). The best part is the comfort level. This is a very comfortable piece of equipment. The monitor is fantastic and easy to use. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and how well this elliptical has performed. My two children have also been know to hop on and give it a spin. it is extremely durable and quiet.

I used to work out at the gym all the time and I got sick of having to travel and get all sweaty in front of other people. I looked into getting another elliptical machine and after extensive searching I bought this one. I owned two before this one, but they were terrible and stopped working after a couple years. The Precor EFX 5.23 was more expensive than the other brands, but after trying it out, I just knew it was "the one". I have had it for three years now and it works awesome. It still works just the same as it did when it was brand new. I love that this machine does not put the stress on my knees like my treadmills did. That makes it all the better. I do not get to use the machine as much as I would like, but I am still really glad that I bought it. Now I do not have to sweat in front of other people who are in better shape than me. I can do it alone, comfortably, from home. If you are looking for a great machine, that is well built, and will work for years to come, this is the elliptical for you!

This machine does not wobble, it is solid and well built from excellent materials. The glide mechanism is beautifully designed for constant fluid motion. Offers many resistance levels for novice and pro alike. Large foot pads with slip proof trim are made for any foot size to feel comfortable. The hand grip feels like a real banister giving a sense of security. Performance This machine was designed to work. It glides smoothly, always. It never jams up or slows down. It is a large unit and very solid in construction, it does not shift or shake when you use it. It starts and stops easily with no surprises. It is silent when being used, this is most excellent if you want to hear the television! Comfort Large foot pads with anti slip trim can accommodate even the biggest man's feet. The height of the control center and handle grips are perfectly positioned. You never feel as though you may fall off. Ease of Use This machine is so simple to use and so inviting too! Just stepping onto the foot pads is enough movement to get going. The glide system is smooth and fluid and within only seconds you are a pro. It stops on a dime and stepping off is not dangerous as the hand grip is there to assist you. Durability Professional quality. This is a well designed and well built machine. It is solid and massive in weight. It does not warp or wobble when being used. It does not overheat after only a few minutes of use. Foot pads never get loose or need adjustments. Key pad is simple to read and water-proof. Design Sleek design. Pure fluidity in movement. Non stick sliders make gliding effortless, even in high torque setting. I had to use the eliptical after I tore my ACL playing basketball. I used it to get back into shape, and it was so useful. They have so many settings, and so many ways to customize my experience. I was able to do something different everyday, and the elliptical was very adjustable. They ramp worked smoothly, and it looks sleek. I loved this elliptical!

There are plenty of flimsier models that seem a bit shaky and may not last as long. Precors have been ridden every day in most gyms, so they're proven equipment. Great for low-impact and aerobic exercise. This works without a lot of extra fixing, oiling or maintenance. I've just kept my rollers clean and sprayed with a bit of WD40 to keep things slick. It's great to have this handy at home. like a treadmill, it's your best friend on a day when the weather isn't right for an outdoor workout or even a trip to the gym. overall, you can spend less, but you may not have the longevity that a Precor will offer. I'm not a big fan of the arm "rower" so I just got the leg eliptical exerciser. I can step while holding the handles or do it without holding on, which tests your balance a bit more.

I purchased this machine in May 2007 and have used it 5 days a week since then.  No maintenance issues whatsoever.  I like the 2 user ability.  They have a ton of programs to fit whatever you want or desire (cardio, fat loss, weight loss, etc.) and each user has two personal programs they can set up for themselves.  It has incline (up to 20) and resistance (up to 10) buttons to set to your abilities.   The only place I feel there could be improvements is on the Random program, I wish they would also include in the randomization the resistance.  It randomly changes the incline from 1 to 20, but the resistance is set at 1 or whatever you then decide to change it to.  The other place is memory.  With two users who are on the machine an average of 1.5 hours -- one of our programs (2 personal programs per user) falls short of having enough memory to create.   Precor makes some fantastic machines -- they are durable and, therefore, in the long run, definitely worth their price.

     The PRECOR EFX 5.23 is a very sturdy piece of equipment.  It does not take up a great deal of room and it is very quiet while operating.  There are multilpe programs and you can customize the particular areas of the lower body that you would like to work out.  You can set the program on a quick start or run one of the pre-programmed workouts.  These include programs to target weight loss, heart rate training, interval and more.  You can also set the intensity level and adjust the incline up or down.  The incline feature helps to allow the workout to target different areas.  The digital display shows you the time that has elapsed as well as the calories, steps, stride,        The main complaint I would have is that the PRECOR EFX 5.23 does not offer the moving arms that would provide your upper body with a workout as well.  In order for me to feel like I am also working out my upper body, I usually hold on to some 5 pound weights throughout the course of the workout.  This can get tiring on my hands, so I would really have preferred to have a feature on the machine to work my upper body.

I love my Precor Elliptical machine. It is durable and solid. I love that it is made in America. I have owned this machine for several years with no problems. It works just as well as the day I bought it. I would recommend this brand to anyone looking for Gym quality exercise equipment. You will pay more however the quality is heads and tails above other brands on the market. This machine runs smoothly. The only down side to me is the weight. It is heavy and hard to move. However I think the weight is needed in order to provide a stable smooth workout. Don't by this machine unless you are serious about working out, it would be a waist of money. This is a top of the line machine that I would recommend to anyone looking to get in shape in the privace of their own home.

My husband bought me a Precor elliptical trainer when I became pregnant because we knew I wouldn't be able to go to the gym and even after the baby I wouldn't have time for a gym membership or be able to afford one that had daycare with a working mom schedule. I love this elliptical and use it every day. It runs smoothly and the programs are great. When I used to run on a treadmill it would hurt my knees but that is what is great about ellipticals they don't hurt your knees or harm them but you still get a great cardio workout and it really works your leg muscles. I like the book/magazine holder as I like to be doing something when I workout. If I'm not watching TV, I'm reading a magazine so I love that feature. The programs are great and it's awesome that you can input a person's bio so you don't have to key it in each time. Has a nice drink holder and a spot for cell phone,etc on the top so that is nice also. Very expensive brand but definitely worth it with the quality you get!
