My dog's favorite dry food

5

My dog really loves this food. She gets excited when its time to eat. We've tried other brands but she enjoys Chef Michael. The cost of the food is not too expensive and if you mix the wet Chef Michael food with the dry, my dog is one happy puppy. Flavor Selection There are only 2 choices of dry dog food available where I shop - the filet mignon and the chicken. We've tried the chicken but my dog prefers the filet flavor. There are 3 different flavors of the wet food available that work well with the dry food.

awesome dog food

This dog food is the best! The first ingredient is beef which is superior. On top of that, most of the actual food inside the bag are beef chunks! Surprised me and left me very satisfied. The dog loves the taste of the food and it keeps her satisfied and full until her next meal. Other foods with corn or something else besides meat as the first ingredient leave her hungry and dissatisfied. The bag is also easy to open which seems like it is not important, but trust me, I have spilled many dog food bags and cleaning it up is hard and is a waste of some food that gets ruined. The package was still durable though. Product is well worth the money and is very comparable to dog foods of similar standards. Definitely feed this brand of food to your dog, no matter the size/breed! Quality of Ingredients Made up of mostly beef as said on package. Actually delivered the quality stated on bag Flavor Selection Seems weird to give green beans as a flavor to dogs, but my dog loves it!

My dogs love it

I used to look for the better foods to feed my dogs. I found many only upset their stomachs. My ten year old Eskimo had had less problems eating this food and doesn't snub her nose to it. We have been feeding this product to our little man for almost two years. His weight is perfect, he is very healthy, and our vet even admired him. I plan to continue using this food above any other at this stage.

Max chows down!

I like this and so does the dog, especially if I mix some warm broth or water to the dog food. He doesn't get an upset stomach like he does with some other dog foods. Quality of Ingredients Chewy chucks of meat! Flavor Selection Well, being a newer product, you are limited, but my dog does not seem to mind!

Yup! The dog loved it!

Ok, so she isn't really that picky... Ha ha, but she LOVED this dog food. A little pricey but totally worth watching her dance for it twice a day. We can barely finish pouring before she has her nose in it! She likes the meaty parts best but will gobble up the kibbles along with them. If she had a choice, she's eat just the meat but we certainly aren't encouraging that! We usually wait for a coupon and then stock up. This food is definintely more expensive than what our dog usually gets but it is a treats she really enjoys. Quality of Ingredients Pleased that the processed grains are not the vast majority of this food. Do you know how many dog foods are almost all corn meal? Sad. Flavor Selection Selections are great but the availability of the flavors can be very limited in our area.

Chef Michael's Canine Creations Dog Food is tail-waggin good!

5

After feeding my beloved dog Daisy, pretty much the same dog food for eleven years, I finally decided to switch things up. For the past several months I have been giving her different brands of dog food. A lot of my choices have been based on some basic research, but mostly my purchases have involved finding a sale and having a coupon. I love my dog and am willing to pay for quality dog food and I have been fortunate to find that many brands on the market are priced within my budget. Gone are the days of having to go to a veternarian's office to purchase high quality dog food. I feel confident in serving Purina Chef Michael's Canine Creations Filet Mignon Flavor Dry Dog Food to my dog. It's tasty, healthy, and tail-waggin good. Quality of Ingredients The catch phrase of Chef Michael's is "Chef Inspired, Dog Desired." I definitely agree with the dog desired statement as Daisy always perks up when she knows that she's going to be eating this. Most of the bag of dog food consists of the "tender meaty pieces" but there are also potato and green bean garnishes that are "crunchy, little bites." There are no added artificial preservatives and the first few listed ingredients on the side of the bag are wholesome foods such as beef, soybean meal, and soy flour. Flavor Selection I chose Purina Chef Michael's Canine Creations Dog Food in the Filet Mignon Flavor because Daisy loves steak! This choice did not disappoint as Daisy ran right over to the bag as soon as I opened it. I'm not into inhaling dog food aromas but I could smell the filet mignon fumes escaping from the bag. Any doubts that I had about Daisy not liking this food were gobbled away as Daisy eagerly scooped up every bit of food that was in her bowl. And then she begged for more. In fact, this dog food is so appealing to her that she is sitting by my feet as I type this review, eyeing the now-empty bag.

Not for Sensitive stomachs dogs

My dogs loved this food.  But one kept vomiting it back up.   This is expensive dog food considering it is made by Purina.  My vet doesn't reccommend it for nutrition, but I don't always listen to her on that as she sells Royal Canan at the shop, so there's a vested interest there .  My dogs  did not digest this food well though.  It did not feel like it had substance to it (a cup of this dog food weighs less then a cup of other dog food-  substantially less) , so I switched to a Natural Food brand at a large pet store.  So far no problems with that., and they now don't seem to be starved all the time!

terrific dog food

we have used this Chef Michael dog food for about two years now and our little Minnie just loves it.  I like the fact that the first ingredient listed is the beef or chicken on the back and my vet says it is good food for my pup.  She is a very picky eater and I was so pleased when she took to this new food so well.  Also, the price is quite reasonable compared to many of the other chopices out there today and they can be very expensive.  as i do not feed her wet food, this was a great choice.  I was first taken to it when i got a coupon for a free trial size bag which helped because other times when i have tried new dry foods on her she would turn up her little nose at them and look at me like "what are you giving me anyway".  It is nice to see that there is such a good quality food out now that will not break the bank and the dogs will love to eat, even a finicky one.  Give it a try and I am sure it will really be a hit with your dog(s).We are sold and I do not feed her anything but this now.

My dogs love it!

I have tried everything out there and this is, surprisingly, our dogs favorite.  They eat it, combined with a meat mix in.  I am concerned that it is healthy for them, but the ingredients are comparable to much more expensive dog food, including prescription dog foods and they do not upset their stomachs.

Poor quality

I am very disappointed with this dog food.  It's not a brand I would normally try,  since it is made by Purina, but I had a coupon that made a five pound bag almost free, so I gave it a shot.  First, the ingredient list is less than acceptable: wheat gluten, soy, animal by-products.  These ingredients are cheap and easy additions to many commercial dog foods, and althought dogs "love it" they do so because it essentially tastes like dog candy. The food even smells sweet.  They use BOTH soy and corn products (three corn products), and no healthy dog diet needs to include soy or corn, ever.  The food is too soft to promote healthy teeth, and I noticed after day two of trying the food, my dogs had bad breath, when they usually have "normal" dog breath.  Also, their stool was much softer and both of my dogs developed gas, a sure sign that the fat to fiber ratio is a bad combination in the food.  Buying food based on the fact that your dog "liked" it is a dangerous barometer: dogs, like people, will respond to fatty, sugary foods and 'like' them more. I would never recommend that any health-conscious pet owner use this product.
