The side effects are scary

1

This doesn't help fight heartburn or GERD better than any other product out there. It also comes with a bunch of side effects that are awful to live through, and can be downright scary. The worst is the uncontrollable twitching or movement of your limbs. It also caused my heart to race, so I would never suggest it to anyone.

Help! I need something that works!

2

I was diagnosed with GERD this past year and have been actively searching for help. I started with over the counter medicine, and changed my diet dramatically. I still had the constant burn in my chest. I asked the doctor for a prescription and he prescribed reglan. Hoping it would work I tried it, but I still had the burning and the side effects of reglan made me that much more miserable. I felt drowsy and sluggish, I took it for two weeks before I finally gave up on it.I'm scared to try anything else because of the side effects that are worse than the symptoms. I've tried every over the counter remedy I could find but still need answers. I am hoping I will see a positive review by many who have found a miracle. To those who suffer from the effects of GERD, it is a daily battle of pain and burning, may some medicine magically appear and solve my problem. I will continue to search and read reviews.

Reglan Relieved My Chemo Vomiting

5

I know that sounds harsh and gross, but if you've ever had chemo, you'll understand. I literally got sick every single day after the first week of my first round of chemo. Reglan was a Godsend. I was never able to keep down any ingested meds or even a few sips of water. Reglan was recommended to me by a pharmacist. I could have shots and stuff to aleviate some of the sickness while I was in the hospital, but at home I was on my own. Reglan not only stayed down, it calmed my stomach and allowed me to start getting some nourishment into my body. I am very grateful for this product. It is not only effective for heartburn, it also works for upset stomachs because of chemo, the flu and all those things that make us feel bad and get physcially sick. I keep a supply at home, in the car and in my purse. What a wonderful product it has been for me. I also recommend it to others I know with cancer as they begin the chemo treatments. They are always grateful to know they don't have to try a gob of different things before they find something that works!

Do not like the side-effects!

1

For years I have suffered from GERD. My doctor prescibed Reglan. I also have Hypothyroidism. So life for me can already feel fatiquing and sluggish. I really don't want a medication that would ake me feel like the symptoms of a disease I want to get rid of...but that is what Reglan does to me. Also, within this past year, I suffered from multiple organ failures from my challenged immune system, again, the doctors precribed Reglan. They must only be told what reglan is SUPPOSED to do, but don't seem to realize that what Pharmacutical companies is not always the whole truth, they are for the bottom line. Reglan never truly took away my GERD discomfort. It does ease the nausea a bit, but it would never completely put out the fire. Prilosec ended up being what did that. Reglan actually gave me more ill side-effects than happy relief. Reglan makes me feel sleepy and sluggish. I wanted acid relief not a sleeping pill. So this is off my list of medicines. not for me!

Reglan works well, but I had bad side effects.

I was prescribed Reglan while I was pregnent because I suffer from acid reflux. It worked very well as far as heartburn and nausea was concerned, so well in fact that I continued to take it after my pregnancy was over. I noticed I was having problems with uncontrolable twitching or jerking of the limbs at odd times. This went on for months and I had no idea why. It wasn't until I stopped taking Reglan and the twitching/jerking movements subsided that I realized it was due to the medication.  Years later, I finally heard from a television ad that the company responsible for Reglan was being sued by people who had experienced tremors and other side effects that I had also dealt with. However, since stopping the medication I have not had any other problems and no long term problems developed thankfully.

Reglan changed my child's life!!!!

5

My child has a chronic illness that causes heartburn and bowel issues.  She was also plagued with extreme stomach pain that was so debilitation it was considered a abdominal migraine.  No one could figure it out and no one could give us any answers.  We tried various bowel medicines as well as natural products without consistant results.  We saw doctors on many levels and in several states....locals, professors at medical schools and doctors of reknown.  No one could figure it out.  We were in despair.  Our daughter, at 15 years of age was basically an invalid.  She said in a recliner and was not active at all.  She could no longer attend school on a regular basis and had to be home schooled for months.  In desparation, we tried one more doctor.... He spent the time to talk to us, go over all the previous treatments and finally, recommended Reglan.  It worked!!!! Within a few hours we were seeing positive results and within several weeks she was up and more active then she had been in many months!!! We are believers in Reglan!

Reglan Heartburn Medicine caused more problems then helped!

I am a sufferer of severe heartburn. Everyday is a battle with it. When my doctor suggested reglan as a way to control it I was beyond thrilled because maybe, just maybe, we have found a medicine that will work. So I started taking the medication, and about 2 hours later I started feeling really horrible. I couldn't stop moving, my legs and arms felt really twitchy, my heart was pounding, and I was VERY panicky. My husband called the doctor who told me to go to the hospital! So we went to the local ER, where the ER doctor informed me that I was having an allergic reaction to it. He had to give me a shot and pill form of benedryll before I was able to settle down. However the response to it was still there for SEVERAL days later. The ER doctor also informed me that they had stopped using Reglan for treatment of upset stomach/heartburn years ago because of this reaction. In some cases this reaction can become permanent or reoccuring. Needless to say I found a new primary care doctor! I wouldn't reccomend this medication unless it was a last ditch attempt at saving your life. I would much rather have my horrible heartburn then to feel so out of control of my own body. Just thinking back on this medication makes me shiver. Please don't use it unless absolutely necesary and even then get a second opinion!!!

Do not take!

When I gave birth to my first child I desperately wanted to breastfeed.  I was not producing much milk and my sister had mentioned that her doctor had given her a prescription to Reglan and it helped her to produce more breast milk.  Of course I was willing to give it a try so I immediately called my doctor to find out if I could also get a prescription.  Reglan was called into my pharmacy so I went and picked it up as soon as possible.  I started taking the pill right away and was hoping for more breastmilk.  More breastmilk is not what I got in return.  I had a slight issue with post-partum depression but when I began to take this pill I took a turn for the worse.  My thoughts got worse, the depression also got worse.  I was not producing more milk so it did not do what it was supposed to do.  I went back to my doctor and was put on anti-depressants, which also did not help my situation.  I felt hopeless and just sick.  I stopped the Reglan and I stopped the anti-depressants and eventually returned to normal.  Now I see a commercial on tv that says Reglan has been blamed for neurological problems.  Please, if you are considering this medication, take what I have said into consideration.  Is it worth possibly developing depression?
