We rent an apartment so installing child safety locks that need to be screwed to doors isn't an option for us. I found these to use instead, but because they need to connect two knobs or handles together, they don't work on most of our cabinets including the bathroom cabinet that holds our cleaning supplies. I only use one of these safety locks on the cabinet under the kitchen sink because it's not one I need to go into very often, but it's one that is unsafe for children to get into. After fighting with it to open and close it, I finally set it so it keeps the cabinets closed, but I can, with a fair amount of effort, slide it off the cabinet handles. That is essentially the only way to use it without an insane amount of stress. Also, these would not work on knobs that are thicker so they're really very limited cabinet locks and I wouldn't recommend buying them unless you are able to try them out and be sure that they fit. If you decide to use them, I recommend practicing opening and closing the safety locks before trying them out on a cabinet because it may be a while before you get back in it otherwise!

I tried the Safety 1st Grip 'N Go Cabinet Lock because they looked sturdier than the traditional slide cabinet locks that I had used in the past. These locks were difficult to put on some of my cabinets as the cabinet pulls were too short (there was not enough space for the cabinet lock to fit as the lock is pretty thick). I found them pretty difficult to open; they didn't seem to slide very well, and so would get stuck, and I would have to twist and maneuver it to get the lock off. They were harder for my toddler to open than the traditional slide locks...but that's because they were also harder for all the adults to open. If your cabinet pulls allow for enough space between the pull and the cabinet, I would recommend giving these locks a try, as they were harder for my toddler to open. Just be prepared to work harder at opening your cabinets. I eventually got too frustrated with these, and went back to the old ones I was using.

These locks work really well for cabinets with openings facing one another, with handles or knobs close to one another. When engaged, the two rounded ends lock the handles together, allowing only a little give in the doors, not enough for a child to get in. These locks always stay together, so no lost pieces. One end slides into and out of the other with the slide of a tab. A small window shows either red or green, notifying parents if the lock is engaged or not. When considering use with cabinet doors with knobs as opposed to handles, make sure the face of the knob is big enough to hold the lock on. Some knobs are to small and the lock can lift right off. Overall a really great lock for cheap.

This is a great product. They are difficult enough to keep my 2 1/2 year old from opening cabinets but easy enough for an adult to open with one hand which is great when holding a newborn. The only problem is that if the knobs are too close together they will still let the cabinet open slightly so we have had to buy a different type for some of our cabinets.

We purchased the Safety 1st Grip n' Go Cabinet Locks to put on our cabinets to keep our young child out of things. The first Safety 1st cabinet locks we purchased worked wonderful! They were easy to open and close. These are not easy to use. They have redesigned these from the previous kind. I would recommend these for cabinets that you don't want to get into and want to keep the kids out of. I have noticed that on some of our cabinets the hook portion of the product is too thick to use on knob style handles that we have, so we had to find an alternative. Also if the handles are not spaced apart very far, the hooks don't secure. We tried using these on our tv cabinet and bookshelf with a cabinet that opens at the bottom and these didn't work at all. I think these are really hard to open and close and that i would not recommend these to anyone, unless they are willing to purchase them, try them, and then return them if they don't work in their situation.

I purchased these thinking that due to the button on bottom this was gonna be SUPER EFFECTIVE turns out I was WRONG my two year old simply grabed cabinet handles leaned back and VOILA! cabinet lock came open she removed child proofing and she was in LESS THAN 20 SECONDS todays kids are waaaay more savvy THANK GOD ALL I KEPT DOWN THERE WAS TOILET PAPER               I AM VERY DISSIPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT , Sacramento CA.

I purchased the Safety 1st Grip 'N Go Cabinet Locks several months ago. I thought these would be a great way to keep some of my cabinets closed to my 1 year old, but that I could access them without too much trouble. The locks seem to have many great features, which is what led me to purchase them in the first place. But...they don't fit my cabinet handles! Apparently the knobs need to be fairly close to each other. I wanted them specifically for my bathroom cabinet (under the sink). Both doors have corner knobs, near each other. But, the lock won't "stretch" far enough to get around both knobs! :( I was hoping these locks would keep the doors shut tight, but now I am reverting back to the old locks I had on them, which are the ones that mount inside the doors and allow the door to open about an inch, so you can push the tab and release the lock. So, all in all, I think this WOULD HAVE BEEN a great lock, if it would have fit. Just a heads up, so if you are looking to purchase this lock, make sure your knobs are pretty close together.

I have tried several different safety 1st products to lock my cabinets and refridgerator and have yet to find one that my 4 year old son could not open.  Grantit he may not be a typical 4 year old because they work for my other 2 children 5 and 3 but he always manages to open any lock we put on the cabinets and fridge.

**Safety 1stGrip 'n Go Cabinet Lock** **What is it?****The Grip 'n Go Cabinet Lock by Safety 1st** is a different type of cabinet lock then **Safety 1st** has previously made. **Safety 1st** advertises the *SecureTech* lock indicator which assures you that the device is locked or unlocked.  Made to secure two cabinets together, you simply open the lock up by holding down a small release button on the bottom of the lock.  You then place the **Grip 'n Go Cabinet Lock** around the cabinet handles or knobs that you would like to secure. Simply push in the release button and hold it down while you slide the lock tight.  When you have it as tight as you can, release the release button.  There is a little sliding picture that shows your cabinet is locked. **My Viewpoint!**After trying another cabinet lock [Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Locks][1] , I needed a product that would keep my cabinets locked, secure and wouldn't break!  Skeptical of using another **Safety 1st Cabinet Lock** product, I still went ahead and purchased  the **Grip 'n Go Cabinet LockS**.  My first thought when I saw it was that it did look more sturdy and I liked the *SecureTech* lock feature promoted on the packaging. I only bought one package, which contained 2 **Grip 'n Go Cabinet Locks** to make sure I wasn't going to have a cabinet lock nightmare like I had with the previous product. So far, I have to say that I am very happy with the **Grip 'n Go Cabinet Locks by Safety 1st**.  I have pulled, pried, twisted, shook and basically went crazy on this lock and it keep my cabinet doors secure and didn't break!  It's also a little nicer looking than the cabinet slide locks.I plan to go and buy more for the rest of my cabinets that I would like to keep securely shut from the children. I do have one gripe about the **Grip 'n Go Cabinet Locks by Safety 1st** - when I slide it together and it's securely locked, the *SecureTech* picture does not always state that it is locked, it will show the unlocked picture.  The *SecureTech* feature that is supposed to make this product so great doesn't always work.  I double check the locks to make sure they are secure and move on.  I **never** rely on the *SecureTech* picture.
