Best I've found

So far, these have been the best baby gates I can find. THey are super easy to use, and install. It's just 4 screws in the wall and you're done. And they open and close easily too. Much easier than a lot of the other ones that I've seen. The only negative I have is that after opening and closing them so much they kind of bend in the middle.

Great Inexpensive Baby Gate!

5

We bought the Safety 1st Lift and Lock Gate over a year and a half ago to replace another gate that broke. This gate is super durable and my 2 year old son cannot get it open (which we experienced with other baby gates). The gate can be time consuming to install (or maybe my husband didn't know what he was doing), but once it is in place it isn't going anywhere. We have bought multiple gates over the last year and a half and this is the only one that is still standing. The latch on it (handle where you push it down into place) is tough for little fingers to open and close and despite many temper tantrums where our son has thrown himself at the gate it has stayed in place and kept him from falling down the stairs. Ease of Use It is easy to use after you get it installed. The installation was a bit time consuming, but totally worth it as once it is in place, it is not going anywhere compared to other more expensive gates.

A gate that stops even the most willing of toddlers.

If you have a moving child, you might want to think of getting one or two of these gates. The holes are not big enough for them to climb in, and the thick plastic makes them last a while. They do what is intended, block your kid from going somewhere they are not supposed to go. Durability The thick plastic of this gate makes this gate durable. I have seen this gate last not only through one toddler, but two. It does its job and does it well. Ease of Use This product is fairly easy to use if you know anything about baby gates. Just place and lock. What is best about it, it is just the right height to step over, so you don't have to keep taking it up and putting it back down. Safety As far as safety goes, this product seems pretty safe to me. Anything that is durable enough and prevents kids from climbing on it seems to me should be labelled as safe. I have seen some pretty rambunctious toddlers and this gate always provided the needed amount of safety, well that and at least two adults at a time.

A Swinging Gate Was Perfect For Our Needs Outside And In

5

Although we got the Safety 1st Easy Fit Secure Gate for our daughter's room, we opted for the Safety 1st Lift and Lock Gates for our back deck on our house in summer, and used them at the top of the stairs in the winter time. These were a blessing to us. They were attached by the hinges and easy to open and swing when not in use, and when she was on the deck, we could lock them and she would not be able to get out. To this day we use them for our rabbits when it is time for them to spend time outside. Durability We have used these gates for some years now and although we store them outside in the sheds, and they have had a few minor cracks in them, they are still working very well. Ease of Use These gates on our deck or at the top of the stairs worked very well. When we got tired of using them, we would take them off the hinges and remove them entirely. When we wanted to use them again, we simply attached them to the hinges. Despite having to have the frustration of gates, these gates made it as easy as possible to have the deck entrances or top of the stairs made safe and blocked. Our daughter who we nicknamed Houdini could not figure out how to open them either which was a relief. Safety Because our daughter did not figure out how to escape from these gates, they remained safe and secure the entire time we needed them for her. To this day we use them for our rabbits and they still are working nicely to keep them safe and block them from escaping, while still offering ease of use to us as well.

Its a good gate but has a few flaws

We recently purchased a safety gate by Graco. And well it seems sturdy but has a down flaw about it, the handle crank is not very sturdy, when trying unwind it to open the gate or reset it in place. It broke right in my hand.It is a good size gate to block doorways, comes in white and is plastic.

Nice gate for stairs.

The Safety 1st Lift and Lock Gate is a great gate for using at the top of the stairs.  You can use it as pressure-mounted in other doorways, but it also comes with hardware that you can mount at the top of the stairs.  It is pretty easy to install if you use the hardware.  It comes with a diagram so you know where to the place the mounts.  It's easy to remove the entire gate and store it by just leaving the hardware on the walls.  I think the Safety 1st Lift and Lock Gate is a pretty decent gate if used and installed correctly.  It is made of plastic so if it gets hit or banged too hard, it will break.  Our gate swung open too hard and it snapped the mounted hardware.  It is sturdy enough for a toddler to lean up against without any concerns of it not holding up.  We've used the Safety 1st Lift and Lock Gate for several years and it has held up well besides our children being too rough with it.

A real pain to use.

When we bought the Safety 1st Lift and Lock gate, we were looking for an inexpensive gate to put at the bottom of our basement stairs to keep our little one from climbing up the stairs while we were downstairs.  We had purchased Evenflo gates for the other locations in our house where we needed gates, but we were looking for something a little cheaper since we wouldn't be using this one nearly as much as the others.  The Safety 1st gate seemed to be the best choice.  Until we tried to use it.  The gate is very difficult to get set up, especially if your walls are the least bit uneven!  I have to struggle with it every time I put it up.  Once it's set up properly, it's very secure.  The handle is just very difficult to press down to lock it.  Also, there are now several spots on our walls where the paint has been ripped off by the gate. The gate does the job of keeping the kids safe, but the hassle of putting it up and taking it down is not fun.  I tend to just watch the kids more closely than take the time to put the gate up, which defeats the purpose for having a gate in the first place.

Saftey 1st's Baby Gate --- Helping Hands

The Safety !st Perfect Fit Gate, is the best helper moms could have for keeping toddlers safe or pet out of room you don't want them in. I baby sit in my home and this gate helps a lot, I don't some one else there to keeping toddlers out of the kitchen when time to cook lunch. I can still keep a eye on them but they can't get in the kitchen around stove are other places were they could get hurt, while my hands are in the cook pots getting there lunch ready. I even use it to keep my dog off my couch when I go out. There a lot like kids as long as you are around they don't do it but when your not around they will. It has a nice contemporary design with no climb panels. Three in one lock release adjust handle mechanism. Easy to use. Fit almost any door. Can even be placed at top or bottom of stairs. I have had other gates but they were not as easy to use as this Safety 1st Perfect Fit Gate.

Saftey 1st Baby Gate is like an extra hand around the house!

Saftey 1st's Baby Gate has been a blessing to me since I have had it over a year ago! It is easy to adjust to almost any door way with just a few clicks! It is such a help for me because I can put it up to keep my toddler in the living room with me when no one is home and I am nursing the baby. The gate is great because it keeps my toddler in my sight and out of the kitchen and the cat food! Furthermore, she can not wonder out of my sight and get into to any chemicals or pull heavy objects down off of the counters or table.   I am never worried about the stability of the gate while my toddler leans on it. She even hangs on it from time to time and it is fit into position so securely it does not even budge an inch. Saftey 1st's Baby Gate is also very easy to clean. I can just take it outside and with a light scrub and arinse it looks brand new. In the winter I can fit the gate in the shower for a quick cleaning. This is great for me because I am extremely busy and it only takes two or three minutes out of my time. I will be able to use this Saftey 1st's Baby Gate for my next toddler in a year from now. Well worth the money spent!

one handed baby gate

5

I thought I'd never find a gate I liked until the Safety first Lift and Lock Gate. I love the handle on top. It takes a little to get it set, but once set to the width you want, it's so easy to use. I can move it one handed when I have laundry or the baby in my arms. It's sturdy and you can bolt it to the wall if you want. I can see where a shorter person may not like it because  you couldn't step over it, but I have no problem, even if I was shorter it's so easy to open and move with one hand then replace it wouldn't matter how tall it was. I also really like that because everything is on top with the handle not even a toddler can get it open.
