Overall I have no complaints with our new washer and dryer combo. We have owned them for several months now with no issues. Two things you need to watch for when owning a high efficiency washer: 1) mold on the rubber ring inside the door, and 2) using the correct detergent for your washer. We do have mold on our washer. However, it is probably my fault. I knew that HE washers are prone to this and I took no steps to prevent it. Always make sure to wipe out the rubber ring after washing a load. Also leave the door open to let the air circulate. Another thing to consider is that you must use a special HE detergent. It is formulated to produce less suds. Even with an HE detergent you need to watch the amount of soap you use. I have found that I use much less than the manufacturer's recommend or I still get a Suds Error Signal on my washer. Another helpful tip is to use a mesh laundry bag when using Shout Color Catchers. If you don't they will get sucked into the pump and clog your washer which will result in a costly repair (unless you have a handy husband!). Overall I would recommend using an HE washer and dryer combo. The difference between my old inefficient set and this new Samsung is amazing. My clothes come out of the washer smelling fresh and clean. Instead of being wet they are just damp, which considerably decreases the drying time! Upgrade! You won't regret it!
