Good If Necessary

4

If a baby needs a lower intake of minerals, then this is a very good product (and about the only one that I have found so far). Although it can be a bit more expensive than other alternatives, it can be worth the money if it is necessary. We have been pleased with the results of this product when we have needed to use it. Easily Digested This formula does seem more effective for our babies when they needed to slightly reduce their mineral and iron intake for a short period of time. In our somewhat limited experience, it has worked quite well for them, although someone who needed to use it longer than we did may have a different opinion. Ease of Preparation This is a powdered formula that simply needs to be mixed with water in a bottle. Once it is mixed, it may need to be adjusted to the right temperature. We usually adjust the temperature by warming up a container of hot water and letting the bottle sit in it until it is warm enough.

This formula really really works

When my son was born his pediatrician put him on Regular Similac.  That lasted a few months until he started getting constipated.  His pediatrician did not want me to switch over to the low iron Similac and basically told me to put vaselin on the end of a baby thermometer and stick it in his little hiney so that he would poop.  After doing this twice it was such torture for my little guy I ran out bought the low iron Similac and it worked great.  Believe me the dr was not happy that I switched formulas but my answer to him was your not at my house with a screaming infant all day and night because he cant go to the bathroom.  It was torture seeing him in so much pain.  He was crying, I was crying. Trust me when I tell you that this stuff really does work .  My son was feeling better within a day or so.  I have recommended this product to friends even to this day and my son is 13 years old now.

This is the one I used

This is the brand I used for all my 5 children when they were young, never had any serious concerns or issues due to the usage at all with any of them. I believe Similac to be a highly reputable company that has a dedicated commitment to quality and perfornce. I would definately recommend using this brand if you are wondering what is a good brand to use. It has been my observation that they have had a lower incident reporting rate then other brands out there, they have always had my trust and loyalty to their products. My kids all had healthy rates of growth and BMI for their ages and very low amount of digestives issues, it is to the best of my knowlege that this product did not cause or inhibit their healthy development in any way and may have been a large contributory factor in their healthy development. I would definately recommend this product or other Similac products highly. Always use the formula most recommended by your peditrician.

When my daughter had trouble pooping, I thought too much iron.

My daughter Keagyn, always had trouble pooping. She would do this thing where it almost sounded like a squeel when she would poop. The poor thing would have very large and hard bowel movements at just a few months old. I couldnt figure out what to do. When I first had her I did try to breastfeed. Its not that it wasn't for me, its just that I have already large breast, and it didn't help to fill them with milk. It was a hard and painful process for me. I even tried to use a breast pump in placement of the actual act itself, but I ended up having to go to formula. I attempted at first the cheapest brand they had, parents choice, which did a great job, she wasn't spitting up or anything bad in terms of digestion, but she was still having trouble pooping. So I thought, well, all these baby formulas are full of vitamins and iron, and I went searching through labels trying to find something different. Then I saw the Similac Low Iron, and I thought, its not too expensive, its a very known brand and it may help. Sure enough, she wasn't on it for more than 2 days and she finally started having smaller, more frequent and softer bowel movements. She stopped squeeling and became a very happy, normal pooping little baby. We kept her on that formula up until we introduced her to solids, and the need for formula wasn't as much. I would recommend this product to anyone whos baby may have the same problems, and she also wasn't as gassy because she was pooping more often, which in turn made her less fussy. Its a great product.
