This Singer sweing machine is a decent product for the low price. It has several stitch settings, and comes with a couple different feet. I use it for household chores such as hemming pants or skirts, and for crafts projects.  I have even used it to sew an entire quilt.  This machine is fairly easy to use and would be a great product for a beginner.  I do wish that it had come with a hard case though, instead of the cheap vinyl soft cover beceause it tears very easily.  I ended up using an old hard sided suit case to protect the sewing machine when it is not in use. Threading the needle is a breeze with the self threader, even if you have bad eyesight.  The Singer 2662 comes with several accessories that come in handy for getting started. You could basically put the thread on and be ready to sew as soon as you open it up.  It even comes with a button hole foot, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to work for th life of me; even after reading the manual. Overall I would recommend this product to others who are looking for a good value and a basic machine.

I was looking to purchase a more expensive sewing machine, but came accross this Singer 2662 sewing machine, and to be perfectly honest, the price caught my eye on this sewing machine as it was less expensive. Yeah I know, you get what you pay for, I should have researched better or read reviews online. Its an average sewing machine, it does work, but it is not spectacular, it is not great. The problem with it is the stitching. It will not take advantage of the different styles of stitching. Some will work, while other styles will not work. It is very frustrating. You would think if it lists a style of stitching it will do it, but alas, it wont do all of them. Maybe it is a defect with this particular machine and not the truth for this particular design flaw. The thread also gets caught here and there. After a few years I ended up with a brother sewing machine, which has given me more durability than this machine. I would not recommend this singer 2662 machine as it is simply only ok, and average in performance.

The Singer 2662 machine is truly a great machine beginner or professional. We used this machine to teach on at church in the 10-12 year old class.  the instructions were easy to follow and it was smooth, tangle free bobbin loading.  even the children, boys alike had an easy time learning to use the Singer.

I bought this sewing machine to replace a 30+ year old machine and have been well pleased with the ease of learning a new machine.  The threading, tension control, selection of stitiches and making buttonholes is quick and simple.  I especially like the variety of stitches in a simple and not too expensive sewing machine.  I am enjoying making clothes for our new great-granddaughter and will enjoy the portability when taking it with me when traveling.
