I love to bake but don't want to spend hundreds on a mixer. I love my sunbeam mixer.

I've had this mixer for just over a year. I'm working on saving up for a better one. It's not bad. I really wanted a stand mixer and really couldn't afford an upper end one. I hoped this one would work out better. It says it will take a smaller bowl, but I can't find one that says it'll fit. When working with a thick mixture, the outer beater will sometimes detach itself. The layout of the beaters seems like it could be better. For instance, if I'm beating 3 eggs, it always seems to not catch the third egg to break the yolk. I have to use a spatula to break the yolk and get it to incorporate. I have to constantly scrape the bottom middle of the bowl and the outer edges. with a spatula. Again, it's better than a hand mixer in terms of not having to hold it, but that's about all. My beaters are starting to accumulate rust now which is another reason that I think it's time to upgrade. At the price, I was hoping for at least a couple to a few years out of it. Mixing Performance Flawed design, always have to scrape the sides of the bowl and often the bottom in the center. Durability My beaters are rusting after only one year.

My mom purchased this mixer for my sister and me when we went away to college because we love to bake. She couldn't afford something nicer like a KitchenAid, so she got us this, knowing it would still do the job. It's not an excellent mixer by any means, but it does the job well at a great price. I like that it can be a hand mixer or a stand mixer, as it saves space being designed this way. I actually used the hand mixer more often than with it on the stand, because I found the bowl spins too much on the stand for most mixing needs. Mixing Performance I believe this mixes pretty well. It is much easier to mix something using the hand mixer over the stand. Ease of Cleaning This product is very easy to clean. The bowl detaches, as does the hand mixer. It's very easy to deep clean this after a mixing adventure. Ease of Use This product is very simple to use. I didn't have any trouble figuring it out the first time I turned it on. Design The design of this mixer saves space over alternatives, which I really liked. The bowl liked to spin too much for most uses, but it works well.

I received this Sunbeam Mixmaster Stand Mixer as a Christmas present 2 years ago. My initial excitement quickly faded after the first few times I used it. I had wanted a stand mixer for a long time prior to receiving this and couldn't wait to use it. I found that this mixer would only mix ingredients in one spot, even with turning the bowl. I stopped using the stand mixer when I noticed the coating from inside the bowl was being chipped off and going into my batter of what I was making. At first, I thought I didn't clean the bowl well enough but when it happened a couple more times, I stopped using it altogether. Mixing Performance While the actual strength of the mixer was strong enough, the constant scrapping of the sides and bottom was a pain and no matter how much I did that my batters would never fully mix as the beaters would mix in one spot only. Ease of Cleaning The beaters and mixing bowl were very easy to clean, especially when rinsed thoroughly right after using. Ease of Use This stand mixer was very easy to use. The hardest part was trying to get the beaters out of the mixer which wasn't easy. Design I really liked the design of this stand mixer, not flashy but not too plain. It fit well on my counter top. Durability I do think the mixer was and would have lasted a long time but with the stainless steel chips that came off the mixing bowl I had to stop using it.

I give this a "good" rating based on the fact that I do have experience with other mixers, such as a Kitchen-Aid. This mixer does an excellent job for basic tasks such as baking mixes, mashed potatoes, and things like that. It is easy to clean (only 3 pieces to clean: 2 mixing blades and the bowl) and all are dishwasher safe. This machine is very basic and very user-friendly. It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done! Simple design looks nice on the counter top, too. Mixing Performance Good for mixing basic things like cake batter, mashed potatoes, and things like that. I find that most things can be well-mixed even on the lowest settings. Ease of Cleaning Only 3, very easy to remove pieces that need to be cleaned! The mixing bowl comes off of the base easy. The rest of the machine can be wiped down easily. There are not a lot of nooks and crannies for mixes to get stuck and hard to clean. Ease of Use Very simple operation: plug in, turn dial. That's it! Not a lot of fancy features to become confused with. This machine would be great for a beginning cook. Design Sleek,simple design looks great on the counter and goes well with other kitchen appliances. Durability Going on 2 years, and our machine has no wear to speak of. No damage or lack in performance since we first purchased it.

If you don't do a lot of heavy baking and just can't justify the cost of a KitchenAid, this may be the one for you. Mixing Performance It mixes well and fast. No problems here at all. Does tend to get hot when mixing dense batters and doughs. Ease of Cleaning It comes apart which makes cleaning a breeze. Ease of Use Easy to read dial...not a problem at all. Design Sleek and attractive design. Looks good on your counter! Durability It is heavy...solid. The motor seems to be pretty powerful. Have not had any problems yet.

I purchased my mixer about 2 years ago and I still love it! It gets most of its use during the colder months with making cookies and cakes, has not let me down yet! I like how easy it is to clean, and that the bowl locks onto the base so I don't have to worry about it flying off or slipping! Mixing Performance Really like how well it mixes, I do find that in the very center I have to stop it occasionally and scrape away whatever is in the middle, just because the beaters tend to miss that one specific spot, but it does decent enough I can't really complain! Ease of Cleaning The only thing I feel is too hard to clean on it is the very front where the air flows into it, if flour or something gets into it it's hard to get it all out, and once it gets wet, it cakes on, other than that it's fairly easy to clean! Ease of Use Very easy to use, one of the beaters has a rubber piece on it so you can easily tell which beater goes in which hole, the base moves so you can use a large and small mixing bowl, very clearly labeled. Design Very nicely designed, I like the way the top comes off for easy storage and the way everything fits together on it. Durability Again, had it for 2 years now and has not let me down yet!

I bought this mixer when I was looking for something good but not horribly expensive. Since owning the mixer I have made cookies, cakes and brownies with great ease. The only problem with the mixer is how the bowl attaches to the base. I had a problem with it at first and called SunBeam and they were very helpful sent out a new bowl for me.

I have this mixer, a hand mixer, and a kitchenaid I recieved as a gift. This one is my go too for baking, and making sauces, dips etc. I save the hard stuff such as bread kneading, and pizza dough for my kitchen aid. This mixer is great! You don't compromise quality for the price. If you are an avid baker and bake HUGE batches of things at a time I can see the mixer getting worn out or "tired" but for our family, it works great. I make cookies and muffin mixes twice a month or so, I regularly make chipotle sauce for chicken, and cream cheese dip. Ease of Cleaning It is no different than cleaning any other stand mixer I have owned.

I wanted a kitchen aid mixer. However I coudln't afford it. So, I got a mix master by sunbeam. I LOVE IT. It's great if you don't do a ton of baking. I recommend it to anyone who asks! I do wish it came with more asscories. I am thinking of getting different size bowls with it. I tried to use the kneading beaters, but honestly... I think the best choice is just do it the old fashoion way. It did a horrible job at kneading. I have heard of some people who have said, they have smelled like a burning smell when using it. I have never had that problem. It's also very easy to clean. I've had other mixers and the beaters were had to put in. These are not. They go in nice and easy. I have the black one. I wanted the red, but couldn't find it.
