I first came into contact with this laundry detergent at a friend's house and she had washed her towels in it. The towels smelled amazing even a few days after the laundry was done. The mountain fresh scent makes a big difference in the way clothes come out smelling from the washer. Another aspect that really impresses me about this laundry detergent is how well it gets out stains. The acti-lift does a fantastic job at getting stains out without doing a major pre-treat. There have been times I have forgotten to treat stains before washing and will realize after they come out how bright and stain free they are. The actual laundry soap is a good consistency and dissolves well within the laundry. I have never had any issues with it leaving residue on my clothes. I would caution those who are sensitive to strong scents to stay away from this laundry detergent since the scent stays with the clothes for several days and could bother some especially those who use it on bed linens. The only reason I can't give it a 10 is because the price is so high but if you are willing to pay extra this is a great detergent.

I love Tide products. They clean as they profess they will and I feel I get what I pay for. I am rather sensitive to certain smells however. Smells that are on shirts and up around my face are especially hard for me to handle. This mountain spring scent is one of those unpleasant scents. It doesn't smell so bad in the bottle, but when it is heated to body temperature, it gets rather annoying. This is a 40 oz. bottle and I feel like I have been trying to use it up forever by washing items we don't wear, such as towels and sheets and pillowcases. The acti-lift ingredient states that stains lift off with ease. This is a plus that will help cut down on extra products that are purchased additionally to pre-treat clothes prior to washing. I will continue to purchase Tide products, but not this one. Although I can highly recommend the Tide name brand, in good conscience, for anyone that has a sensitivity to smells, this might be a smell to leave on the shelf.
