Weslo CardioStride Plus Treadmill

This is okay for a manual treadmill, and definitely affordable, but it is just not the same as a nice electric treadmill. It does incline but you have to pick up the tread and move it up or down. The center does show how many miles you have gone but that is about all it shows. It does fold up and stores easily out of the way so that is a plus. This is great for people who just want to walk and not run on their treadmill, or for people that have joint issues and walk slow. This product was not for me so I gave it away to a family member. Performance The tread moves pretty smoothly but I had a really hard time running on this one. Comfort This is best for a walk so it's great if you have bad knees or joints and do not move quickly. Ease of Use Step on it and start walking! It's manual so your body makes it move. Durability Seemed to be pretty durable and held up well the few months I used it. Design It is small and folds up to easily store in a closet or under a bed.

Broke in less than a week

I didn't have high expectations for the Weslo Cardiostride Plus Treadmill and I still feel disappointed after using it for a week. This treadmill is extremely light and a great space saver, but that's about it. The first time I set foot on this treadmill it felt like it was going to collapse. This treadmill states that it can hold 250 lbs and I only weighed 170 lbs at the time so I chalked this up to a poor quality build. It didn't feel stable at all and had a slight wobble to it despite being on a flat surface. I decided to test out this treadmill by doing some light walking and found it to be terrible. The band rotation was very smooth, but the constant side to side rocking motion made me nervous. After carefully studying the back legs I noticed it had a design flaw on the right side. I placed another treadmill mat under the right side and it fixed the wobble. It still felt weak when I was on it, but the wobble was gone. After walking on it for several days without any problems I decided to do some light jogging on it. 30 seconds into my jog and I heard a loud crack. I immediately stopped and checked the treadmill. I couldn't find the problem until I started feeling the platform. There was a 6 inch crack in the platform under the band. I definitely wouldn't recommend the Weslo Cardiostride Plus Treadmill to anyone regardless of their activity level because this treadmill will break down.

Not bad.

As some other reviewers have said, this is a good beginners treadmill. About 4 years ago I purchased the Weslo CardioStride Plus Treadmill because of it's low price and smaller size. Living in a small apartment there really is not room for some large treadmill. Please note that this is a manual treadmill, not a motorized one. There is nothing fancy about this treadmill. There is no electronic display or special settings. It is somewhat of a challenge to put the machine together. It took me quite a while to get it figured out. This treadmill is quieter than a motorized one. You can get a nice calorie burn at home, while simply walking in front of the TV. I used it 5 days a week for over a year and never had any problems with it. I eventually just got lazy and stopped using it. I am not sure if these are still around but if you see this treadmill and are not looking for anything fancy, try this one! Design There is nothing fancy about this treadmill. It has a very minimal appearance.

A good first treadmill.

The Weslo Cardiostride was the very first treadmill I owned and I did like it. It is a simple, entry level treadmill that does not cost a lot of money. I had it in my apartment before I met my husband and I used it a lot. If you are looking for a treadmill with a lot of features, this is not the machine for you. It does not have a lot of options on it, but it is great for a simple walking workout, which is the kind I was looking for. Unfortunately, it is not very durable. When I was moving into a home with my husband, I wanted to take this treadmill with me, but it broke on the move. We were not moving far from my apartment and it was not jostled around during the drive to our new house. However, once we got it set up, it just would not work. I think that this treadmill is wonderful for first timers, but do not expect something that will work forever. I had to replace this treadmill after only one move, so that means it is definitely not very durable.

Great price for a great workout

If you are looking for a quality machine at a great price this is a great product for you. I had originally bought this product for my husband but i will also be using this for myself as well. It was a little difficult to put together but what isn't that big. It took about an hour to put it together and get it right and it comes with ok directions but it wouldnt be difficult for those that are challenged. It is very easy to use, once you start to tread on this machine it begins to glide very nicely. I've only had to put the lube provided about two times so far but other then that it's perfect. It also has 3 latches to where you can go from a level to uphill which is what my husband like to keep it on. He's been using it for a week and has already lost 6lbs from doing 2mile workouts a day. They also have a great screen to track your progress and isvery easy to read. Big letter and numbers.

Great entry level treadmill

4

I have had good success with the Weslo cardio stride plus treadmill.  It is an inexpensive entry level machine.  I say entry level because it is a manual treadmill without a lot of bells and whistles.  Because of this, however, it is less bulky than some of the more expensive models and a little bit safer too. There are no motors to burn out and the machine stops when you stop.  It features two manual incline positions, a  thirteen by forty one inch belt and wheels for easy transport.  It does fold for easy storage as well.  I have logged quite a few miles on my Weslo treadmill and it is still performing good.  On the downside, if you are on the higher end of the fitness spectrum such as a marathon runner, you will probably want something a little more substancial.  For the casual walker who wants something for when the weather is incliment, this one works just fine.  It is hard to find many treadmills at this price point.

My Weslo treadmill is helping to lose weight!

5

In the summer of 2008 I bought a used electric treadmill. I had decided to lose the baby weight I had gained while I was pregnant. I began watching what I ate and using the treadmill. In three months I lost 25lbs. I was very pleased and then my used treadmill tore up. I put off buying a new one and got out of my routine. The weight slowly came back and I decided it was time to buy an treadmill and get back into shape. I am currently a stay at home mom so my family is on a tight budget.  While looking for the cheapest treadmill I could find I came across the Weslo Cardio Stride Plus. I ordered it and after I received it I realized it was manual, but it did everything my electric one did. I could watch my time, speed, and most importantly how many calories I was burning. I was very shocked at first how much more difficult it was to use a manual treadmill. But the good news is I have lost 14lbs! And I actually feel like I am in better shape than I was before. The treadmill still presents a bit of a challenge but I look forward to going further and faster.

i have thoroughly enjoyed losing weight on my weslo treadmill

**    To anyone who is trying to lose weight and can't really afford the more expensive brand of treadmill or electric one, i highly recommend the weslo cardiostride mannual treadmill.  I started a journey to lose weight and i started with the weslo cardiostride treadmill and i was amazed at how easy it was to start slow but gradually build up in the amount of time i stayed on and how good i felt when i had been on it.  It didn't take a lot of effort to put together and get started. I began by doing it every other day but found that i enjoyed it so much that i found myself getting on everyday and looking forward to the time when i could get on my weslo cardiostride.  I even got my husband to get on it.  Unfortunately he wasn't as motivated as i was.** **    Once you have started on the traditional level, you can raise the incline two more times.  I did the traditonal level for about a month, then raised it to the next level, boy could i feel a difference and the burn from just raising one level. I did that for about another month before moving it to the last level. Moving it to the 3rd level really increased the intensity of my workout.** **  If you want a beginning to losing weight or to start getting in shape, the weslo cardiostride is the way to go in my opinion.  Hope you try it.**
