JUNK!!!!

1

Please don't waste your time with anything whirlpool! We purchased 4 appliances in 06/2010 and all 4 appliances torn up within 6 months of purchase. Luckily they were all still under warranty so they were fixed free of charge. Since then we have had 3 of the appliances mess up at least 2 more times. Whirlpool will not replace the part or do a service call because they were 3 years old! Terrible terrible customer service and a waste of time and money. Anything even made by whirlpool is junk! Please don't even waste your time because I promise you it will only turn out to be a headache!

delay start feature does not work with these dishwashers

2

i've had my gu2300xtv model for a month now. everything was great for the first 2 weeks.  i loved the ample size, the silverware in the door and the cleaning ability.  it wasn't extremely quiet, but still acceptable. suddenly, all my dishes had a white powdery film.  the tech came out and told me how these units operate in order to maintain their energy star rating. the internal heater does not kick in until the main wash.  so, you have to run the tap water to the ideal temp before the unit starts.  this is why the delayed timer is not useful unless you're willing to install a mini water heater at your sink.  note - bosch units' heaters kick on immediately so i should have bought a bosh since this feature was extremely important to me. fixing the problem was not a simple as it sounded.  here are the steps i had to take to get rid of the film in the tub. 1. run washer magic through a cycle when the unit was empty 2. ditch my "green" phosphorus free detergent and buy cascade with dawn (6.4% phosphorus).  bad for the environment, but good for cleaning. 3. stand at the sink before i start the unit to heat the water up. it seems to work well again but i'm really surprised how high maintenance this thing is. would i buy this unit again?  NO would i return it for a bosch?  NO - boschs have their own issues.  i'm just bummed i can't use the delay.

This dishwasher is a lifesaver

This dishwasher is great!  It is very quiet, you hardly notice it is running at all!  It cleans the dishes wonderfully and I LOVE the sanitize option, especially for washing pacifiers and baby toys! There are many cycles to choose from, so if you are only doing a small load of dishes, you don't have to run through the entire cycle. It stays pretty clean inside, I use plastic booster when the white inside starts to turn an orange color from washing dark colored foods, such as spagetti sauce.  It brightens it up in just one wash, and I throw in my light colored plastics at the same time to brighten them up as well! I have owned three dishwashers now, and this one is the best of them all, by far.  I had an issue with installation and the customer service representatives from whirlpool were great!  I would recommend this dishwasher, it is a little more pricey than some of the others, but it's money well spent!

A Flexible Design Makes this Dishwasher Feel Custom Made

4

After nearly ten years of using a mediocre dishwasher, we decided it was time to find an affordable replacement. We spent time researching online, and then looked over several models and price points before deciding upon the Whirlpool Gold GU2300XTVQ Dishwasher. After living with it for a few months, I'm happy to report that we're getting good performance at an affordable price. Noise Level Although this is listed as a "Quiet Partner III" system, it's not exactly quiet. You can hear it turn on and go through its cycles. However, it is considerably less noisy than our former unit, and it doesn't disturb me when it's running at night. Cleaning Time The 2-4-6 option lets me delay washing until 2-, 4-, or 6-hours later. We usually put in the dinner dishes and delay washing until late evening when it's more economical to run the appliance. The cleaning time varies depending upon the wash/dry settings you select: Pots & Pans (heavily soiled), Glass Xpress (Crystal and delicates), and Adaptive Wash (Auto-sensor determines appropriate cleaning level), Rinse Only (to refresh dishes). Loading Flexibility We're happy with the large capacity tub, fold-down tines, and the adjustable upper rack that makes it easy to fit any tall, large, and oddly-shaped items. What we don't like is the silverware tray. The "Anywhere Plus Silverware Basket" is flimsy and the utensil divider is impractical. If you put the basket on the inside of the door, the utensils will not dry and there is always a wet mess left behind on the door. Performance For the most part, I know that when I open the dishwasher my load will be sparkling clean, sanitized, and thoroughly dry. However, we were a little disappointed with the PowerScour option that uses "36 targeted jets" to scrub off heavily soiled dishes. When we used that PowerScour to clean a few Pyrex casserole dishes, the results were mixed. One came out clean, but the other two still had stuck-on residue and had to be hand-scrubbed. Design The Whirlpool Gold is an attractive unit. The outside is white, sleek, and contemporary. The interior tub is a slate color that gives the dishwasher an upgraded appearance. I also love the soft blue lights that signal the cycle, and the one that is left on to let you know the load is clean. No more guessing. Durability It's much too soon in our ownership process to speak to long-term durability. So far, everything has run smoothly and the interior is rust-proof. My only concern right now is that the silverware basket seems flimsy.

The quite dishwasher.

This dishwasher is very good compaired to my last one. It almost caught fire, then we learned that that kind was doing that so they recalled them. Wonderful...because it was a new dishwasher only two years old, and we spend a lot of money on it. So after a loss of money we bought another one...same brand...but not by choice. This one is very quite, and seems to do a good job. Only problem is that the rack seems to come off the rollers? So the whole bottom tray pops out randomly when you open it. The spinner on the bottom also catches it if it does not go back in exactly right. But I pride this thing on its quiteness because I can watch TV and have it going at the same time. At times i have no idea the thing is even on. Well I hope this helps someone whos on the edge of deciding!

This whirpool dishwasher gets the job done

3

I bought this Whirlpool Gold 24" Tall Tub Dishwasher in White at my local hardware/home store. It was on sale and reasonably priced. I would say it gets the job done fairly well, but works better with jet dry or another additive to help get the dishes really clean. It has a nice clean appearance and works well with the decor in my kitchen. Its a bit louder than i had hoped, but you get used to it after a while. Overall for the price and the quality i would say it is an average dishwasher. It works well for everyday dishes and party dishes or dishes that have baked on food are harder to get clean in the washer. i usually have to scrub my dishes to get them clean before they go in the dishwasher, which really bugs me! I dont think they should be called dishwashers unless they are going to WASH my dishes! not just sanitize them.

Very pleased with this dishwasher.

We purchased this Whirlpool dishwasher last year and overall, we are very pleased with it. It is so much quieter than our last machine, and does a great job cleaning. Our last dishwasher required you to rinse everything before using the dishwasher--what's the point of that?? I usually try to mostly rinse off my silverware, but the rest, I just throw in. I love the very spacious bottom rack, and that I can put sippy cup lids on the top easily. My only complaint is that it MUST have Jet Dry in it or else I will get some residue (including food particles). But if I keep up on that, it does a GREAT job. I like that it has the rinse option (for when I don't quite have enough dishes for a load...but dont' want to worry about food sticking on the dishes), and the timed delay is a very nice feature, as well.

not impressed with this whirlpool dishwasher

3

we bought this dishwasher about 3 years ago and it was working fine for the first month. then the problems came in. it wasn't cleaning at all!! i was just very unhappy. we called the store and they replaced ti. and then again it wasn't working. we tried cleaning it 80% and then putting the dishes in and it would only clean a little. after that soap started coming out from the bottom, making my whole kitchen floor wet and dirty. it wouldn't stop! another problem is the soap would sometimes go up the sink as it uses the same pipe. its very loud. so watch out when you turn it on at night. but it does have a 2-4-6 hour delay wash, blue lights, and has a power scour option. it is expensive and has problems. so make sure you talk to your store provider about any refunds and exchanges you can make if you get the same problems as me. other than that i would not recommend it to anyone of my friends.

Could not live with out it!

I LOVE my Whirlpool dishwasher!!!  At our old house we never had a dishwasher!  It was such a drag when the dishes would pile up and I'd have to stand there for 45 minutes and wash them by hand.  Then we bought a new house that came with no appliances.  This was a SCORE for my husband and I.  We bought a matching Whirlpool stainless steel set.  So WONDERFUL to have a dishwasher FINALLY!!  It is quiet while running.  We have an open concept home and the kitchen is right off the living room and I have never felt that it was distracting or bothersome while we watch tv or entertain guests.  My dishes always come out nice and dry and spotless!  I don't even use Jetdry and still my dishes come out beautifully.  Stainless is a little more high maintenance to keep clean.  I use Pledge to keep it clean, works well and isn't too expensive. I definitely think this dishwasher was a fantastic choice!
