This is the perfect size dishwasher for singles or couples with no children who can't have a built in. You don't get left with no forks b/c the dishwasher isn't full enough to run. It has good settings and is energy/water efficient. It is easy to maneuver and hook up and stores nicely. I use mine about every other day. I like that it is quieter than one old rattle trap that I used to have. The dishes, even pots and pans come out clean every time with little need for pre-rinsing, which really is a time-saver for me. You can use it at a heavy wash setting which I haven't had to do as it cleans well at regular setting. I also haven't used the Hi-temp setting but I think having them available is good on a portable.

We own this dishwasher, and I absolutely love it! Our home is an oler home, and did not have exisiting dishwasher hook ups, so I knew we would need to purchase a portable dishwasher, or keep washing dishes by hand. When you factor in the fact that we have five children, our choice was obvious. However I was concerned about cost, and the interioror of the dish washer being to small to hald many dishes. This model was very affordable, it fit right in our budget, and it came with a one year warranty, which was terrific. Best yet the interior of the dishwasher holds plenty of dishes, even my pots and pans! There is plenty of space to put casserole dishes in with regular dishes like plates and bowls, as well as a strainer, or spaghetti pan. This model is very easy to operate as well, which is terrific, because even my older children are able to operate it. Our water bill has really come down, and my dishes are always sparkling!

I love it. I can set it up to wash at a delay of 2, 4, or 6 hours later and have start after I have fallen asleep so that way the loud noise it makes doesn't bother me. It does a great job washing and rinsing the dishes then drying.

I live in a basement apartment with no built-in dishwasher.  I hate doing dishes on my own, and I know I waste a lot of water when I do.  My portable dishwasher gives me some extra space to put my dirty dishes.  I like not seeing the pile of dishes looming in the sink, awaiting my attention, while they gently (and sometimes not-so-gently) remind me with their aroma.  So, I definitely think the way to go on these babies is to go through Craigslist or to buy used.  Retail, these things are too rich for my blood.  Portable dishwashers are a hot item, so make sure to keep checking online postings.  I claimed dibs on the one I have within 60 minutes of it getting posted on Craigslist.  And by the time I came to pick it up (within a few hours), the seller told me that she had received a bunch of other calls and inquiries about the item.  I did have to buy an adapter for my sink in order to use this washer.  But it was totally worth it, and I haven't had any problems with my dishwasher leaving dishes dirty, leaking or anything.

We had a Whirlpool portable dishwasher back in 1986 and it was great so far as being able to move it around (we were renting, so we needed something portable back then). We had a problem with the rinse dispenser. I would fill it up with the rinse agent and six months later, it was still full. We were a family of 5, 2 of them being teenagers (using a lot of glasses), meaning that we used the dishwasher a lot. Well, we bought a house and another Whirlpool portable dishwasher and I don't know what the deal is, but it's doing it again...........want to hear something funny.............Whirlpool told me that "I wasn't allowed to buy from them again'', as if they had to.

I just moved into my 1st apartment this year. I love the Whirlpool Dishwasher because it is fast for cleaning the dishes that I use every day. It is a whole lot better than washing them in a sink and almost breaking the dishes when I wash them in the sink. The Whirlpool Dishwasher is small and that works great in my new apartment. I love that the dishwasher has lots of space for pots, pans,cups,knives,forks,and everything else we use to eat or drink with. Even tough it is great to have this new Whirlpool Dishwasher in my new apartment it can be loud at times when it is running.

This dishwasher is also very easy to move to the sink. It is easy to load and cleans my dishes very well. However, I've had trouble with the lid closing on the detergent dispenser; sometimes it won't latch. Also, I wish it had a cover on part of the silverware basket. No matter...it beats washing dishes by hand! :-)

I purchased this Whirlpool DP840SWS portable dishwasher around 2005. This is a very convenient dishwasher, for one thing it is portable! how cool is that?! You can push it around, find the right spot in your kitchen. Very convenient. Also it is very economical, yet very strong machine. This leaves the dishes super sparkly queaky clean, works wonderfully for every load, its decently priced, for such a good machine. You can buy it, and within minutes you are ready to go. oh another convenient thing is you do not have to prewash anything! which is why a dishwasher should not require you to do, otherwise what is the point of a dishwasher? so you load up the dishes, and they come out very clean. For the years I have had it, it has worked flawlessly withouth any problems. I would recommend it for the space, convenience, quality, and cost. It is also very stylish would look great in any home. Recommended definitely. I enjoy having it in my home.
