Got fridge 9/2010. 8/2013 had to replace compressor. It is now 12/2013 and putting in second compressor. Shelves have cracked, veges sometimes freeze, fortunately I have not experienced the ice/water woes that i have read about. I would have rated it lower, but I did the math:) Noise Level Constant hum and occasional clicking, do get used to it. Interior Organization if you've never owned a side-by side, consider carefully. Freezer will not accommodate a frozen pizza! You do have limited option to adjust some shelf heights, but cannot rearrange the bins. The most versatility is on the door. Temperature Control Three years for a compressor? Enough said. and then the one they sent is obviously defective, lasting a mere three months. Vegetables sometimes freeze, without temperature adjustment. Ease of Cleaning Interior does wipe down nicely, but don't spill or leak anything. The glass in shelves is not removable, therefore seeps under glass, drips and is impossible to clean. The glass also scuffs scratches easily and looks horrible. Durability We opted for the brushed stainless to reduce the fingerprint visibility and it works nicely. Door handle has popped off for no apparent reason on several occasions. Shelf cracked after only one year (common problem), shelves look terrible after short time and again, compressor bad after only three years. Design I should never have replaced my 25 year old refrigerator! There are obvious manufacture defects: shelf cracking/scuffing, veges freezing, door handle etc., which the company chooses to ignore. Bottom line look elsewhere. You are stuck with arrogant, nonexistent customer service and no recourse.

We got this refrigerator about one year ago and love it! It has plenty of space and shelves, easy to clean, you can set different temps in the bottom bins for veggies/meat. The digital ice maker is nice. My only issue is that the ice kinda shoots out all over so some fall on the ground. There is a fast ice option which is nice so it makes ice faster when you are running low. It lets you know when filter needs to be replaced as well. Very nice refrigerator and pretty quiet! Would recommend if you are in the market for one. Noise Level very quiet..hardly ever hear it even when making ice Interior Organization many shelves and bins for organizing Temperature Control temp controls for the refridgerator and for the bottom bins if you want your veggies / meat at a different temp Ease of Cleaning very easy to remove bins to clean. Wipe down shelves easily if dirty Durability very solid and durable. No dents/cracks/breaking anywhere Design very good design and love the touch pad on the front of the refrigerator

The water filtration system sold this refrigerator to me, highly rated was a plus! Design The shelves are poorly built, the plastic around the shelves are brittle and can crack easily, my refrigerator is great but, in three months one shelve cracked! I called customer service, got the run-around with them saying they don't replace parts etc. So, ask for a supervisor and demand your rights. My repair part, is on its way, gratis!

We had this refrigerator less than six months and the area for the buttons the plastic on it Cracked. Noise Level The only noise that comes in a refrigerator if when id dump the ice cubes. Interior Organization The inside of the refrigerator has a lot of room and a lot improvements over the other version. Temperature Control I have never had any problem with the temperature. Ease of Cleaning Very easy to remove parts to clean them. And put them right back in. Durability It takes a lot of stress of adding cans and jars, bottle into the shells and have never cracked. Design Very well designed especially with the shells that you can lower or make higher if they know what you need to store in the door.

I absolutely love this refrigerator.  It has extremely spacious compartments to store your food in both the freezer and in the refrigerated part.  There is plenty of room for tall items as well as a crisper in the lower tray of the refrigerator.  The electronics on this refrigerator are nice to have because it tells you the constant temperature of the refrigerator at all times.  Because of this feature, you can see a problem before it becomes a disaster.  There is also a nice digital adjuster to the freezer and refrigerated compartments so that you can control how cool you want each section to be.  This is a wonderful feature that I could never live without since I now own one!  The refrigerator is energy efficient and doesn't need to run as often as other brands to stay cool or frozen.  It has an automatic defroster to the freezer section so that ice never builds up inside the freezer.  The ice maker on this refrigerator is also easy to use and offers a crushed ice feature as well.  I love it!

Purchased the 21.8 cubic foot refrigerator, however 2 weeks after purchasing refrigerator, the water line delivering water to the dispenser froze.  It turned out that the refrigerator door was warped and the freezer was over-working to compensate.  Called whirlpool and they were not helpful! Stated it is their policy that they do not replace units, however they will replace door.  It will take 6 weeks for them to replace the door. Spent a good deal of money on this refrigerator and am vey disappointed with the customer service and product! Will definitely think twice before purchasing another whirlpool refrigerator.

i would recommend the whirlpool side by side refrigerator to anyone. this refrigerator has been the most dependable refrigerator i have ever owned.  our electricity has gone out several times and everything in this refrigerator stayed very cold and fresh for an entire two and one half hours.  the fresh vegetable drawers have kept my squash and broccoli fresh for 2 to 3 weeks. the ice maker has been working like a charm and always gives me more than enough ice even when my family visits and the children try their best to empty it.  fresh clean water is a must and you can't beat the taste in every glass i drink each day to consume my 8 glasses a day quota.  this refrigerator has helped to keep my days run smoother and hassle free.  anytime i shop for appliances i always think wow this must be a great deal, its a whirlpool!

I'm a student and so therefore I'm not really into the quality of appliances. However this refrigerator is great for me and my family. Its spacious and easy to clean which is great because thats my chore. Also, the ice and water despenser works like a charm. Its Ideal for someone in a rush. Moreover, The lighting inside the refrigerator is great, ample for those midnight snacks when creeping around in the dark.
