Had a service call on the freezer less than a month after we had it. Temperature Control The first month we had it, a service representative had to be called because everything in it was thawing. We lost several items of ice cream and had to throw out some vegetables and a couple of steaks.

We purchased this freezer about a year ago. We bought this to replace a 30 year old chest freezer. We had outgrown that freezer and we were looking for something that we could organize and find our food easier. This was a great choice. I was surprised that it seemed much bigger than our chest freezer, but holds about the same amount as it. I love that everything now has its own spot and can be easily found with out fear of losing something in the bottom and it going bad before finding it. I have purchased some extra wire baskets to help with the organizing smaller items, such as vegetables, fruits, beans, and meat. You do have to be careful in how you pack everything in though. We had managed to break a piece of the light cover off and now it falls down every time I place anything on the top shelf. That piece had also managed to fall down and jam the fan blade. Of course, it took getting a service man to come look at it and find out that why it was not working. luckily it was a quick fix and it was still under warranty. Overall, I highly recommend this freezer if you are looking to take up less floor space and be able to organized your freezer.

If you need a small freezer to hold those extra's in or to keep ice cream hard, this is the unit for you. It seals tight, is quiet running, and no freezer burn. I wanted a small front door freezer so that I could place it in a small area of my laundry room and then placed the small fridge on top. Perfect fit. Temperature Control I have been impressed with this small check freezer. The temperature stays consistent and it is easy to see what temperature you have it set for. The seal around the door is solid and tight which makes it less lightly to lose air. Capacity This little guy holds a lot and the door is loaded with shelves that holds a lot. Even when loaded the door closes tightly and easily. This is a great little freezer if you are limited on space. I think it would be good to use in a motor home if you are one of those that goes for extended periods of time. Hold ice cream solid and I have never found freezer burn on it. Ease of Cleaning This is not a self defrosting unit but it is quick and easy to do a clean up job. Shelves are coated - do not rust and the smooth surface of the walls make it easy to wipe out. Durability I am impressed with the seal around the door and the amount of food that this little giant holds. Design I have friends who have bought the chest type but I find that the upright is easier to find things.

We actually have 2 stand alone freezers one is the Whirlpool Upright Freezer EV161NZR and the other is a the other is a chest type freezer. We did not pay for either of them. The chest one was a hand me down from someone and my husband's grandfather bought the Whirlpool for us shortly before he passed away as a housewarming gift. ] We have had the freezer for many years so obviously it is durable. It has managed to stay fine after several power outages, being left opened and having things melt all over it, which happens when you have kids. We keep it out in the garage so it is able to handle cold and hot temperatures for its location. The freezer has 4 very nice shelves in the main area. One of the shelves is not really a shelf but a pull out basket area. The pull out basket comes in handy and it is good for holding smaller items or items that are oddly shaped and do not stack well. There are also 5 shelves on the door, the top one is pretty small and does not hold a lot but is good for orange juice cans or something like that. The other shelves are as deep as the door and can easily fit ice cream cartons, that is about the width that they are, don't keep ice cream on the door though it will not stay firm. Don't keep anything really important on the doors, they don't stay as cold as the rest of the freezer for some reason. The freezer has worked fine for many years if you stack things to the top on the top shelf it will start to accumulate ice up there you need to keep the hose area clear or you will have to defrost the freezer because a lot of ice will build up on the top. Other than that I a happy with the freezer. Temperature Control It's good just do not pile up stuff on the top shelf to the top or it will build up ice. Door shelves do not seem to keep as cool as inner shelves. Capacity It holds quite a bit, the shelves are deep and adequate. Ease of Cleaning Same as any freezer you have to defrost it for a really good cleaning. Durability I have had mine a lot of years, it has been working for a long time in the elements of my garage and has been left opened and had stuff melt all over it and still it charges on. Design Good design, not fancy to look at it is a normal upright freezer, but the shelves are nice, the basket is nice, and there is plenty of space.

I think that this freezer is a great product for the price. I'm assuming that the price is relatively the same in various areas. The freezer has a tight seal which is good because we have had problems with freezer products failing to do so, and this ruins the food. We have had freezers that are a variety of different brands, and I'd have to say that when thinking comparatively, this brand has been the best one that we have had. The freezer is laid out well and it has very good temperature control that is maintained evenly, or so it seems. I would recommend this product to any family or friend that asked for my opinion either about the specific product or upon the inquiry of it being the best product in it's class.

My family has always needed extra freezer space and after shopping around we found the freezer to meet our needs. We love to freeze vegetables from our summer garden and shop for great deals and the refridgerator freezer in the kitchen is just not big enough to accomodate all of our freezer needs.  This upright Whirlpool freezer was just the right size for extra freezer space in the garage.

The Whirlpool upright freezer has plenty of storge on the door for cans and small items which is handy when freezing fresh fruits as you can package them in single use sizes. The shelves are well spaced and wide. This makes it easy to stack meat packages and keep each cut together. It also allows for the storage of large packages of garden produce. The basket will hold a number of odd shaped items so they do not have to take up shelf space. This freezer freezes rapidly making it a pleasure to freeze fresh garden produce. Its exterior dimensions make it easy to fit in the kitchen or a large pantry.

The whirlpool upright freezer is a winner. This freezer is frost less and really cools well. I just plugged it in and forgot about it. It has an alarm on it if it ever stops working for any reason. This is my first freezer and I like it very well. There is storage baskets that pull out on the door and 4 shelves and 2 huge pullout baskets inside the freezer. Nice space to hold a years worth of garden produce. It has lots of space, so you can separate all your different varietys of food. Whirlpool freezers are very spacious and nice looking.
