What you have to understand about the Zicam Cold Remedy Rapid Melt is that it's not actually a cold medicine. I think that's what gets a lot of people confused. It's more like Airbourne products or even Emergency because it's meant to use right at the time you feel a cold coming on. What it's meant to do it shorten the length of your cold, and stop it in it's tracks before it even begins. It's non-drowsy and homeopathic. The ingredients are Zincum Aceticum and Zincum Gluconicum which are supposed to aid your body in reducing the amount of time you have your cold for. It's a great citrus tasting melt, with actual vitamin C. The vitamin C is great for helping to get rid of a cold as well, because it helps out your immune system. With that being said, it does a really good job at stopping my colds from happening even before it starts. When I start getting a sniffle, runny nose, or even a slight cough, I use the Zicam, and I can feel my symptoms starting to clear up with in a few days. It really does help from your cold from becoming severe. I can't tell you how many times I'm taken this and it has stopped me from getting sick completely. The only downside is that you have to catch your colds before they start getting worse otherwise this really isn't going to help you. Congestion Relief Does not help with congestion relief at all. Chest Congestion Relief Does not have ingredients that would help with chest congestion relief. Relief of Aches & Pains Zicam is not meant for the relief of aches and pains. Cough Suppression It didn't have any ingredients that would make it a cough suppressant. If you have a bad enough cold/cough I wouldn't recommend this for you, you are better off sticking to a cold and flu medicine.

Zicam Cold Remedy RapidMelts are alright. They taste good and at first they do shorten the duration of your cold. The problem is after you use them through a couple of colds they stop working, I think your body just get's immune to their effects. I know so many people who swear by Zicam products. After hearing so much hype I decided to try the Zicam Cold Remedy RapidMelts because they looked like the most appealing product at the time. You are supposed to take them as soon as you notice cold symptoms and then continue taking them even when your cold is over. I'm not really sure why you are supposed to take them once your cold is gone though, that doesn't make sense to me but whatever, I followed the instructions each time. I get a cold maybe 5-6times a year, that's about it as far as sickness goes for me. These taste really good. There is no medicine like taste, they simply taste like an orange flavored hard candy. I took them the day I started noticing I was getting a little stuffed up. I continued to take them for a few days until I noticed my cold was gone, then I took them the 2 additional days. It seemed like it knocked a few days off my usual week long cold, it was 4 days instead of 7. The second time I used them it maybe knocked day off my cold time. The third time I used it I really didn't notice any difference. I think your body just gets used to them and you become immune to their effects. Zicam Cold Remedy RapidMelts is an okay product but for me I became immune to their effects.

I heard about this product when my co workers were talking about how well it had worked for one of them when they felt a cold coming on. I went to my local drug store to buy some and have it on hand when I felt my next cold coming on. I hate when I get a cold and will try anything to shorten the life of one. I took these right when I felt the first symptoms of the common cold. I usually start to sneeze like crazy and immediately can feel the sinus pressure start to build up. I did not see any difference in the life of the cold, it actually probably lasted longer than a normal cold. I took them just as the box described and nothing. I was disappointed in the product as it did nothing for my cold. It is not worth the extra money for this product. Congestion Relief I could not tell that this product worked at all for congestion relief. My cold symptoms were not lessened, and actually seemed to less longer than normal.

Zicam Cold Remedy RapidMelts -- I think they helped, but how can you really know for sure? We have all experienced that feeling of a cold coming on. Some people call it a "pre-cold". In my experience, it starts with a very, very mild sore throat. It is almost like a quite whisper that is far away (almost not noticeable at first). Then it gradually starts to get stronger and I realize that I think I am getting a cold. It is at that point when I take Zicam. And sometimes, I actually don't get a cold! And sometimes a do get a cold. But there is no way for me tell that I really was going to get one in the first place. I don't know if Zicam made a terrible cold into a mild one, or if it made a mild cold not develop at all. But to me, it SEEMS to work in lessening or eliminating a cold. As far as congestion relief, chest congestion relief, relief of aches and pains or cough suppression, Zicam does not do anything for those symptoms once the develop. And I have tried several of the Zicam products (mist, lozenges, and chewables), and the rapidmelts were the best. I hate to give all the "factors" a rating of "1" since even though the product is not effective in those factors, so I will give an over "8" for everything. Congestion Relief The product isn't really effective in congestion relief, but overall the product rates an 8. Zicam RapidMelts are the first thing I go to when I have a cold. It helps with mucus, coughs, sneezing, sore throat, headaches, everything. The citrus flavor is more than acceptable for a medicine, though some people will take issue with the powdery consistency of the melting pills. Also, the price is somewhat high for the amount of medicine in a package, but a pack should be more than enough to drive a cold away. Absolutely recommend.

I ran to the drugstore one day when I had a sore throat and didn't have the time to be sick since I had a job where I had to be on the phone most of the day. It's really hard to be cheerful and nice to people on the phone when you're in pain just speaking to them. I took one of these right away and every time my throat started to hurt because I was absolutely determined to not fall ill. When I'm sick, I usually don't have chest congestion, so I don't know how well it works for that. I usually encounter head colds, you know, runny nose, then stuffy nose, sneezing, and head pain. The taste really isn't the best, but you just have to realize that it's medicine. If you let it rest near the back of your throat and can do that without choking on it, that's the best way to go. The medicine gets directly to the area that's hurting. Also, whatever you do, don't chew on it, it's gross. The longer it's in your mouth, the more medicine is getting into your throat. It works for me!

I love to use the rapid melts to help with a cold. The only thing is that I have to start using these at the very first sign of a cold. So the minute my throat gets scratchy, I start taking the rapid melts. If I wait until I already have a full blown cold, I find that the product is much less useful. I take the rapid melts as often as allowed my the directions. The tablets are tasty, but you can't eat or drink for a few minutes after you take a tablet. So plan ahead. I do find that the rapid melts make me feel kind of woozy, like any other cold medicine. This feeling is worth it though, because the pills really do stop colds quickly. You still feel a little off for a couple of days, but this is nothing compared to full on cold. I always keep a bottle of Zicam in my medicine cabinet. Congestion Relief These do not work quickly like sinus pill, but they are certainly effective. Chest Congestion Relief I find that for chest congestion, Mucinex or some other medicine specifically designed for chest congestion is better, but to STOP THE COLD BEFORE IT IS FULL BLOWN, Zicam is definitely the answer. If you are already suffering from chest congestion, another medicine might be better. Relief of Aches & Pains I have never really noticed relief from aches and pains, but I take Zicam to stop a cold. If I wait until I am sick, Zicam is less useful. Cough Suppression Again, I use Zicam to stop a cold. I try not to wait until I am already sick with a cough.

Zicam is an excellent cold remedy. There is no need to suffer for two weeks with a stuffed up head anymore. Zicam really shortens the life of your cold. It also makes you feel much better along the way by taking care of all of your symptoms. It tastes pretty good, too. Make sure and follow the directions. According to the directions, you need to take it for a couple of days after your symptoms subside. If you quit taking it too soon, your symptoms may return. Follow the directions by taking a melt every four hours when you feel a cold coming on, and your cold will be gone before you know it. I really love this product. Congestion Relief Zicam provides excellent congestion relief. Chest Congestion Relief I will give it a 10, but I am not sure my head colds have had a chance to go to my chest while on Zicam since it is such an effective cold remedy. Relief of Aches & Pains Zicam is an excellent ache and pain reliever. Cough Suppression Zicam is an excellent cough suppressant.

My mom grabbed some of this for me one day when I was miserable with a cold. I forgot all about it until a few months later when I felt like I was coming down with another cold and was rifling through my medicine cabinet in search of something to make me feel better. I figured it was bogus but decided it couldn't hurt and started taking it. Imagine my surprise when a few days later my impending cold hadn't gotten worse and was even starting to go away! It kind of felt like the early days when you can tell you are about to get a cold (tickle in the back of your throat, slight running of your nose) but it never actually developed into a full blown cold. I was pleased but still cautious, maybe it was a fluke, I wasn't really getting sick, allergies or something. Still next time I felt myself starting to come down with a cold I took it again thinking, what the heck, if it helps why not! Sure enough same thing, it really seemed to keep the impending cold at bay. I've since taken it several different times and it really seems to work, to prevent and shorten/lessen cold symptoms. One downside is that you have to avoid eating or drinking for fifteen minutes after taking it (30 minutes for citrus fruits or juices) but that's a minor trade off in favor of avoiding a cold! It also has a pleasant taste (I like the mint the best) and dissolves smoothly and quickly!

I first received and tried this product as a sample. I was very very impressed.This stuff is so effective that I have repeatedly bought it , used it and I keep it in stock in my medicine cabinet.Not only has it worked for me , but also for my grandson and his mother as well. So I must say that it is a great and effective product for many generations to use. Congestion Relief This product has eased and dispelled stuffy nose congestion with out question. It works very well and it's effects last. Chest Congestion Relief This particular kind of Zicam product works well toward chest congestion but I've found that is the most effective for chest congestion when you increase the amount of warm fluids that you drink when taking it. Relief of Aches & Pains I can only say that this helps to give relief of aches and pains associated with your throat if it's sore. Cough Suppression This product does well and really helps with cough suppression during the day , but in my experience I did have to take additional medicine at night to get total night time cough suppression.
