This is a great cooker for a small family of maybe four people or even a single person. I bought this a couple years ago while my rice loving daughter was still home. As an empty nester I continue to use the cooker and it still works great. Very well made. Super easy to clean. The bowl itself is non stick and comes right out as does the lid insert. It also comes with a rice paddle and a cook book. It is also very versatile with settings for quick, white, brown or sushi rice as well as porridge. One of my favorite ways to use it is to cook dry beans. Just soak 1 cup beans with 4 cups water for few hours or overnight then drain. Put the beans in the cooker, fill with water 2 inches above beans and set to brown rice. Add salt to taste toward the end of cooking. Perfect every time with no fuss. Plus your kitchen doesn't get hot. Another favorite thing I like to cook is rice pudding. Steel cut oats are a breeze on the porridge selection. You can also manually program it though I have not found a need to do so. With th rice setting you really just set it and forget it. When done it automatically goes in to a stay warm mode. It does take longer than stove cooking but I find it very easy to get started at the beginning of my dinner preparations. Brown rice does take a good hour or so.
