Great for carrying toddlers!

5

We have had many carriers over the years. This is my favorite for carrying toddlers or preschoolers! I have never used this with a baby and I'm not sure that it's a great use for a baby either, but for a toddler or even a preschooler, look no further. I'm petite 5'4" and am smaller around the waist, many carriers I have tried pull on my shoulders and don't fit correctly around the waist. The BabyHawk Oh Snap! gets this right on. It fits snug and comfortable around my waist, resting on my hips and doesn't strain my upper body. We started using this carrier when my son was 13 months, he was on the small side and I used it mostly for a front carrier at that age. Now, he is 3 1/2 and we still use it quite often while hiking. He is around 30 lbs and we are able to do hikes with him comfortably on my back, granted it's more work for me, but not the strain on my back. This carrier is easy to use and secure. I'm able to put him on and off my back in the carrier unassisted and safely. Putting him in a front carrier takes a bit more practice because the straps cross in the back, but still very manageable. The only thing I wish this carrier came with is a sleeping hood, often times while hiking he starts to fall asleep on my back, but there is nothing to rest his head on. When the kids are younger they sit down in the carrier a bit more and have more of a head rest. Of course, there are lots of fun colors and designs to choose from too!

BabyHawk Oh Snap! - Easy for New Babywearers!

5

We bought the BabyHawk Oh Snap! after finding the BabyBjorn uncomfortable, and deciding that we wanted a carrier that allowed for us to do back carries, since neither the BabyBjorn or our Sleepy Wrap is recommended for use as a back carrier. The Oh Snap is very easy to adjust and because it has so many points of adjustment, you can get a comfortable fit. It doubles as both a front and a back carrier. My son absolutely loves being worn on my back in this carrier. He is just starting to get big enough for back carries, and has enjoyed being worn around the house while I clean, eat, or do whatever other tasks I need my hands free for. He will fall asleep in it easily, and when awake, will sit happily, looking around. The design makes getting him on and off my back easy to do alone, since most of the carrier is buckled together before slinging him on my back, and all I have to do is pull the (already buckled and adjusted) shoulder straps on. The only clip that needs to be done up once he's on my back is the chest clip. I find this carrier very comfortable to wear and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to use carrier that has the versatility of a back and front carrier.

We love our Oh Snap!

We received an Oh Snap! as a gift, and we love it!  I'm more of a soft-carrier lover (I usually stick to my ring sling and mei tai), but my husband was interested in something more structured.  We had an Ergo, and he liked that a lot, but when we were given the Oh Snap!, he said goodby to his Ergo! First of all, what I love about this is what I love about all BabyHawks; it looks awesome!  You don't have to choose any plain, boring colors.  The carrier really gets to be an extention of you, and your style, and not just whatever solid color goes best with what you mostly wear.  Ours is gorgeous!  Next, I really like the system for loosening and tigthening the straps.  I had issues with the way this worked on the Ergo, but it works well for me with the Oh Snap! Last, I love that the straps detatch at the bottom, so you can wear it criss-cross if you'd like, instead of back-pack style.  As a mei tai wearer, I love that option! The only drawback is that there are no pockets.  There are two buckle pieces that are used for wearing your child on your back, but not on your front.  The manual says that you're supposed to take them off when you wear the Oh Snap! on the front, but there's nowhere to put them!  Sure, you can put them in your purse, but in my case, I couldn't remember where I'd put them for a while (I finally found them in my glovebox).  I'll give this five stars if a pocket gets added!  :)

Oh Snap is a rare bread

My kids love riding in a carrier. I love carrying my kids in a carrier. I own a lot of carriers. However, carriers seem to have sleepy dust in them and my kids sleep well in them. My kids hate hoods though. When I anticipate them falling asleep I wear them on my front so their head doesn't flop around. But sometimes they fall asleep before I can move them to the front or fall asleep when I am not expecting it. Without a hood they are soon flopping all over and I'm trying to do contortionist moves to somehow get a hood up without them waking. Did I mention that they are very gifted at letting me go through all thay but no matter how smoothly I do it the instant I finish the last button they are wide awake and going crazy because there is a hood on them. That is where the Oh Snap comes in. You get the ease of a buckle carrier but you have a nicely padded and supportive headrest instead of a hood. Like other buckle carriers it also has a stiff supportive waist band, nicely padded shoulder straps, and is easy to use. Another unique feature though is the extra adjustability in the length of the shoulder straps. Also the waist band has adjustments to allow the padding length to be adjusted for even tiny moms as well as being able to adjust it to be a curved or straight waist. Depending on whether you where the waist on your natural waist or lower on your hips a straight or curved waist fits better. The Oh Snap has really paid attention to all the details.
