I purchased this Bodum model to replace another brew in mug of theirs that finally cracked. I was in college at the time and needed a way to brew coffee in my dorm room that did not require a coffeemaker and this was it. Like their other model this is a simple, clean design and you just need to add your grounds and coffee and you're out the door. This is a bit picky though. You need to use coarse ground coffee only. As in specialty ground coffee from the grocery store or coffee shop which will grind it for you to order. Otherwise the grounds will get through the mesh and into your coffee which does not make for a very good drinking experience. There are always a few that get through no matter what, but it's not a dealbreaker. You also need to make sure that you use only hot and not boiling water in this. The boiling water will crack the cup and ruin it. I like that you can brew coffee anywhere with this cup. I've even filled it with my own grounds and ordered hot water at a fast food restaurant and brewed my own coffee in the car while on a road trip. It's certainly much, much better than fast food restaurant coffee! Overall, this is a good product and very versatile.
