I've had this Crock pot for approximately three years and enjoy it so much that I am desperate to get the replacement stoneware bowl was accidently broken during moving. We had many good meals from it.

The best quality

I purchased this from Dillards and owned it for about a year. I unfortunately had to get rid of it due to a long distance move and little spce for moving. I regret getting rid of it because it was the best crockpot I've ever owned. I loved that the upper part can be used in the oven. It is such a handy device. It also came with a recipe book with tons of recipes. These will be a great addition to any kitchen. Durability Great quality

Looks classy on counter!

I LOVE this slow cooker. I use it frequently to try new make-ahead recipes for work week lunches. I've owned it for years and it's very consistent and reliable. I like that the crock lifts out and can be stored separately in the refrigerator or set on a tabletop. It is also very attractive in my little diner style stainless steel kitchen and would go with most any modern decor. The only thing I would change is the lid. I would prefer a glass lid so I can see what's going on without lifting the lid and releasing all of the steam.

the best crock pot I ever owned!

**Rival Versaware 6-Quart Slow Cooker is a great crock pot. i got it for Christmas about 5 years ago from my MIL and I feel spoiled by this pot.** ** It's sturdy and cooks evenly and very versatile. It goes from stove to crock pot to fridge. This pot has two settings, one for high and a low setting and a keep warm setting as well. I have made many meals in this pot including soups, sauces, stews and roasts. All came out moist and delicious and cooked to perfection!** **It's a decent size pot and roomier than most other crock pots, in my opinion. I would suggest spraying it with non-stick spray before cooking so food doesn't get caked on. It's a heavier pot than most crock pots out there and I have had that problem in the past when not using the cooking spray. ** ** **

Rival Versaware Slow Cooker: Most used appliance in my kitchen!

5

I actually got the Rival Versaware Slow Cooker on clearance at one of my local chain stores for like 10.00. I was in need of a crock pot at the time and didn't even really look at it when I got it...the price was just right. This slow cooker has not only EXCEEDED by expectations, but has quickly become the most used appliance in my kitchen. First is the look of the slow cooker. It's more "trendy" than other slow cookers I've seen and I love that it's black because it goes with the rest of my kitchen decor. Considering my cabinet space is limited and I have to store this on top of my cabinets in my kitchen, yes this is important to me. Next is the size of the slow cooker. It is a 6 quart capacity, which is great for me because the majority of what I cook in it is soups, stews and corned beef. I can make a large batch of soup and have plenty of leftovers after dinner to can, which saves me time and effort and I can make a corned beef without any issues at all and save my stove top some work. The heat distribution on this cooker is PERFECT. My previous crock pot, the one I desperately wanted to replace when I bought this one, never heated evenly and would take a lot of jostling to get it to sit on the heating element right so it would cook things with any degree of success. I've NEVER even had to touch this crock once it's sitting in the slow cooker to get it to work. Clean up on this slow cooker is a breeze and I've never had problems with things burning onto it. I've only used the "sautee on the burner" feature once, but didn't have any problems by following the "not above low heat" instructions that came with the cooker. The only problem I've had with the cooker, which is the EXACT same problem my sister-in-law had with the same cooker in the same place (me thinks there's a defect) is that after a couple of months, while placing it into the sink one of the handles broke off of the crock. I'll occasionally have my husband re-glue it, but honestly it hasn't really done anything to effect the performance of the slow cooker, so I haven't really worried about it too much. If you can still find one of these to buy (haven't seen the line in the stores in a while) I'd definitely recommend buying one. They are a GREAT product!

Get Ready for Slow Cooking

4

I love slow cookers. They are easy to use, easy to cook with and makes to easy to keep food hot and ready for your meal. I know how it use it like the back of my hand, and I can honestly say there's no turning back once you use the VerseWare slow cooker from CrockPot (SCVI600B-SS). **What Is A Slow Cooker?** A slow cooker (often called a Crock Pot) is like using cruise on a high way. It's not necessary, but it makes life a whole heck of a lot easier. You simply dump ingredients into the crockpot, set a temperature (and time, on some models of slow cookers) and go. It's really simple. Just start it when you leave for work and by dinner time your house will smell divine. **The VersaWare** This powerful crockpot has 6 quarts of slow cooking goodness of sauteing, cooking, serving and store. It can be used in the oven or in the base. **The Pros** For one, it's stoneware. You can take it from the base to the oven without really having a problem. The digital timer is heavenly - if you set it for 10 hours and are gone for 12, it will keep it on warm until you come home to turn it off. Another quite amazing feature is that the pot and lid are dishwasher safe. Just pop it in and go. I also adore that it's so large. Six quarts seems like a lot, and it is!' For those of you wondering, it's made by Rival, which has set the standards for inexpensive crock pots for the everday home chef. **The Cons** I really only have one con for this product - it's tough to get replacement parts. The first winter we used this crockpot, my husband ended up crushing the handle to the lid. It's nearly impossible to find a replacement lid for it; we're still searching for that lid. Although they say that it can be used on the stove, there are just too many issues at hand that need to occur or the stone will be damaged. Simply put - it's stoneware with a purpose. It's also important to point out that this crock gets REALLY hot. Even on low, it's fairly hot. It's important to note this for some recipes where extended periods of heat can damage the flavor or texture of the meal. **Summary ** If you like slow cookers, you need this crock pot. It's simply perfect for whatever you need.

Good large pot and versatile timer, dont use crock on stove.

The CrockPot VersaWare crock pot has some decent features with the most prominent being the variable timer.  When the cooking time is done, it switches to warm mode (how many times have we used a crock pot on HIGH and forgot to turn it down when done). The crock portion can go in the oven (great if you need to speed up the cooking process) or the microwave.  Don't bother trying to saute on the stove top.  You MUST use the metal grate for heat dispersion or the crock will crack.  It takes so long to heat up the crock to saute that you might as well use a frying pan instead (one more pot to wash - so what). Cooking is a dream and seems to provide a fairly constant temperature.  I've made soup and stews with wonderful results.  The ceramic lid is probably helping in this regard.  The downside of the ceramic lid is that you cannot see how the food is cooking or if more liquid is needed.  This requires that you remove the lid thereby letting out heat. A better design would have a glass lid.

Crock-Pot Versaware is A Good Product

4

I actually got this Crock-Pot as a replacement for one that I got as a gift.  The one I had was under warranty, and the crock broke while I was sweating veggies with it on the stove.  I had the wire protector under it, but it still broke into several pieces and I had to throw out the food I was cooking.  I called Crock-Pot and they sent this one in place of my old one.  They were really nice about it.  The one I had, a 4-qt pot, was pretty unusual, and they had discontinued it.  This one is bigger, and although it's not as "pretty" as the one I had, it still enables the person cooking to actually saute verggies on the stove, over a wire protector.  You're supposed to be able to brown meats in the same manner, but I think, that after the first disaster I had, I'll stick to browning meats in a pan that can't break. This crock pot is oval in shape, and the crock is black, instead of the white ones that are difficult to clean.  It also has a timer that you can set, that will turn off the pot after the number of hours you set it for.  It heats up fairly quickly, and the heat settings seem about right.  I'm really enjoying this one, and I can cook enough in it to feed an army!  The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I'm still a little nervous about using the crock on the stove.

stylish kitchen cooker finally

4

First, I recieved this slow cooker as a gift for my birthday a year ago. I love it. It is so stylish, as I have stainless steel appliances and accents throughout my kitchen, so this black and stainless steel slow cooker sets in my kitchen great. I have never had a problem with it cooking, works everytime and my food turns out great. It is fairly easy to clean, although I have a castiron sink so dropping it one afternoon too roughly into the sink, broke a handle on the slow cooker. But good news is it still works! I definately recomend this slow cooker.

Versatile and Stylish I love this Crock Pot!

5

I received the Rival Versaware Crock Pot as a Christmas Gift last year and I absolutely love it! The stainless steel and black stoneware goes perfectly in my kitchen and it looks very stylish and different from your usual, boring slow cookers. This Crockpot is extremely verastile, the stoneware can be used in the stainless steel base as a traditional slow cooker, seperately in the oven or on the electic range with the included metal frame. The Crockpot is easy to clean and holds enough for my family gatherings or just for dinner with leftovers for me. It does have a bit of smell when you first heat something but that's simliar with most slow cookers I've used. The only down side to this product is that it's bulky and takes up a lot of room in the cupboard when not in use, but it's such a great appliance that storage is not a big issue for me, I keep it out and use it most of the winter months.
