Great oven

5

When my husband and I renovated our kitchen in our town house we bought this oven. Shortly after renovating we sold the town house. The first purchase we made for the new house was this oven! I love that knobs are on the front of the oven instead of on the back. The only concern that I had with this was that it is at a height that is easy for my young children to reach. Temperature Control This oven has a convection setting that i use for most of my baking. I find that things cook more evenly and faster. I love the duel fuel, it is the best way to cook. The Power burner is great for making soups and things that need to simmer. Heat Distribution This oven cooks evenly, especially when on convection setting. The warming draw works well with heat distribution also. Durability This open has held up great with the abuse of my two children. Design I like the design of the oven. It is not too sleek and not too traditional so it fits well for many different styles. The oven is large and can accommodate a fair amount of food. Ease of Cleaning This oven cleans with ease but it get fingerprints on the stainless parts relatively easily

Not the greatest oven

I have owned this oven for about 3 and a half years and at first I really loved it. The controls and settings are easy to figure out and use. It has a nice appealing look and a large capacity to cook in. The first complaint I had with this particular oven is just that the two little burners don't seem to heat as good as they should. The larger burners heat great but the small ones take a while and never seem to get hot enough to cook on, no matter what temperature setting you have it on. Luckily I don't cook a lot otherwise this would be a big problem for me. I had to have the thermostat repaired after just two years, that was a real nuisance to deal with. Most of my life I lived in rented homes in which the appliances were provided and most of those ovens were probably older then me and I never had any problems with any of those old basic styles. This is the first time I have had a range like this in my home, and after 3 years having trouble out of it already I'm not very impressed with it.

Serves the Purpose

I've read some reviews on a similar model and was suprised to see how poorly Kitchenaid ranges are being rated. Although I can't give this 5 stars, I'm been pretty happy with the range. What I love about it is that it's easy to clean, looks great and has a powerful 'power' burner which I use constantly. My only complaint is that the handle screws came out and one side of the handle slide down the front of the range leaving a horrible scratch. Re-attaching the handle was not something we could easily accomplish because of the design - the entire door had to come off. The cost of service is outrageous so luckily a friend was able to help us out, but the whole ordeal left me disappointed in the quality.
