We were looking for new appliances and this was one of the least expensive models available in stainless steel. Temperature Control The cooktop heats up fast, brings a large pot of water to moderate boiling point but not really boiling over unless the pot is really full. The oven is slow to heat but I believe that is because of the concealed coils. Heat Distribution I typically have to turn food once when baking as there does seem to be more heat at the back of the oven. Foil in the bottom of the oven slowed heating but didn't seem to affect baking, otherwise. Durability My only complaint is the drawer. It is extremely wimpy but I noticed that on all of the low to moderate priced ovens we looked at when shopping. Design Looks nice. Ease of Cleaning The self-cleaning oven is great. I didn't notice the smell nearly as bad as my old oven. I was able to remain in the room, anyway. I'm not great about cleaning my oven on a regular basis, however, so this may not be an issue for some. Glass stovetops are harder to keep clean, in my opinion, but the cleaning products help a lot. The upside is, you don't have those metal trays which look terrible after a short time and have to be replaced. I've had my stove almost 6 months and haven't had a problem with scratching. I know they will start showing up, however.

We purchased our home in 2010 and decided to replace some very old appliances. We looked at many models with many different options. Budget wise, we could not afford to pay for the more expensive models, and in reality all we needed was a stove with some basic features. The first feature we wanted was a flat top, which this model has. The second thing we wanted was for the stove to be self cleaning, also achieved with this model. Thirdly, we wanted a stove that had a delay cooking feature, this model also has that. The stove is large enough inside to accomodate a decent sized turkey or ham. We have been pleased with the stove so far, the only thing I would watch for is the fact that cleaning a flat top is not as easy as people would have you to believe. I am hoping that it will get easier to clean as time goes on, as I have only ever had the standard coil top electric ranges in the past.

This is an excellent stove, especially considering the price for stainless steel appliances, this one is a great value. It heats up quickly and keeps a very even cooking temperature, both in the oven and on the cooktop. I love the smooth ceramic top, it makes cleanup so much easier than the coil top stoves, I was always having to pull out the burners on my old stove to clean up spills that had gone under them, but this one just takes a quick wipe, or at most a light scrub with the cooktop cleaner, so much better. The oven is also very easy to wipe clean because of the hidden element in it , I haven't had to use the self-clean setting on the oven yet, it's been so easy just to wipe it out, so I can't comment on how well that works. The seal is great on the oven though, I've noticed my baking time has been reduced quite a bit in this oven compared to my old one. I haven't found any cons to this stove.

We were looking for an economical, yet useful range for our home.  We stumbled upon this Maytag model at one of our major retail hardware stores.  At first, we overlooked it, since the store model top(where the knobs are) looked as if it was a very different color than the stainless steel on the oven.  We later realized that it was just the plastic protective layer hadn't been removed on the store model.  (Purely rejected for cosmetic reasons).  The range top is fairly simple to use and heats up right away.  There is also a light that signals that the range is hot.  There are four heating areas, however no warming area.  We love the oven features as we like to bake a lot.  I like the fact that you can put something in the oven and set it to bake at a later time (useful if you want to bake a desert, but would like it right out of the oven as soon as you are done with your meal) One of the cons (our only con so far) is that the range is easily dirtied.  It most definitely has to be cleaned after each and every use to keep it maintained.   Overall, this is a great range.  Maytag has done a great job.
